  1. Looks great on this label I think, probably German issue
  2. I'm obviously missing something here cos it's gone straight over my head, it's the old wade in the water tune, maybe you should have left off the first half and just put the second half on? (Actually the tune sounds like Incense by The Anglos)
  3. You can borrow me spare for djing if you want
  4. Just to bring this up to date for anyone who's still following it. The A side of this record is called Long Long Trail and it sounds as if it's a TV theme - it's a slow paced Western type instrumental and is quite honestly a candidate for the worst record ever made. There are no composer credits, which is very strange. It bears no relation to the Marching side, and has different publishers, producers etc. So why the Marching track actually came out and appeared on this record will probably remain a mystery, but you have to say well done to whoever discovered it because after that A side, I wouldn't have held out much hope for the other side.
  5. It's weird Baz, a year ago this used to fly out and was going for over 100 on Ebay - I've actually got 2 copies now and it just seems to have died. Bizarre.
  6. and it's the same tune as Marv Johnson Come On And Stop
  7. PETE SMITH 28 JENKS ROAD WOMBOURNE WOLVERHAMPTON WV5 0BL 01902 893569 Pete.smith@freeuk.com Please email or ring if there's anything you fancy. Cheers Pete THE CAMP - MARCHING - SCEPTER ISSUE VG++ 500 SOLD Have to say this is probably one of the rarest records I've ever had for sale and that includes the recent biggies like Jimmy Bo Horne, Al Scott, Larry Wright and so on. I've never seen a copy of this for sale - ever. Not only that, this is a stock copy and not a demo as you'd expect. Plays great, very minor crackle near the start, it has surface marks but no scratches and I doubt if this will be offered for sale again in a long time so might well be a good investment for someone. 10. Not 'arf - sang and produced some great stuff back in Jamaica - especially with Bunny Lee in the rocksteady years
  11. This album came out in the UK as well, on Decca or London I think. The tracks are all from the Rio label if I remember correctly and most are UK productions
  12. Echo...echo...echo
  13. Bloody show off what a collection
  14. Pottsy - there's something amiss here. I was guest dj at the second ever TOS, Jo was the first and she stayed on as a resident, anyway when I did that set I also had hair and I have photos to prove it. When they asked me to do a second set some 3 years later - my hair had gone! Have any other guest dj's at TOS lost their hair after appearing there? If so we may have some compensation coming
  15. Absolutely agree, not one for the purists but a fantastic dance record - sounds just like Harvey - Anyway You Wanta in parts to me
  16. It is but I like this version better, though if there was an instrumental I think I'd go for that
  17. I love this. Sold one on ebay 3 months back for a mate. Wish I'd bought it myself.
  18. These newer arrivals to the scene simply can't do it!
  19. I had one 2 months back, same both sides, sure it was marked as a demo
  20. I'll do 15 for you...
  21. Yeah if anyone wants to copy them and give them to people free of charge that's fine by me. I'm short of loads of them myself - I need 1, 2, 4, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14 if anyone could lend me these to copy or copy them for me I'd be extremely grateful. I've got one spare of issue 6 I could swap and thats all. About 4 years ago I found all of the originals and thinking I'd never need them again I threw them away. It's weird looking back, I started that in 1988, and of course this applies to anyone who did a mag, you had to do all the titles with letraset and cut out all the record labels and stick them in by hand, it was actually quite difficult, when I did issue 16 it's all done by computer and it doesn't half show. In that issue is probably the first article anyone ever wrote about Northern on the internet. The only sites running were: Hannes Rosenhagen Northern Soul Page Yoni's Soul Of The Net The Old Soul Music Home Page (Glyn Williams) Goldmine Soul Supply Nobbys Soul on 45 Solid Hit Soul Night Owl no Soul Source at that point but must have arrived just after...
  22. Bloody hell I've only been logged in 2 minutes, you stalker
  23. Got to go now, back tomorrow, speak to you then
  24. I know, I was ignoring you like I said, it's up for offers...
