  1. just watched the same program and thought it was brilliant, James carr who can't be really known to a wider Uk crowd and all the vintage footage. Did anyone know that In the midnight hour was writen in the same motel that martin luther king was shot in ? i didn't but I do now. dark end of the street , fabulous, the film of the UK Stax tour who's got all that then ? gems like this come along once in a decade, the way it is filmed its obvious that the DVD box set is coming , they already have the CD. I was disapointed with last weeks Motown offering as I knew the story, but this weeks hit the spot and it a hundered times better than watching 13 drongoes locked in a f**king house for 6 weeks. was going to the CiS tonight but stayed in great bit of telly can't wait til i see james Brown and the funk lot next week. as always enjoy it whilst you can !

Ted, Mansfield update Rocoe Rose is still around in mansfield but not on the scene Chris Marriott left the Mining Industry and is now a College lecturer in Graphic Design and art at Nottingham Polly. He still kept most of his un-issued stuff Jimmy Wensiora disappeared into the mystical world of the Showmans guild at Blackpool and Mablethorpe and now has a collection of fair ground rides instead of his record collection which was the grounding for most of todays rare scene as we know it. Rob Marriott, well what can you say, painting and decorating in the mansfield area an absolute crying shame sandi Golden, et al all gone ! Tragic Chris Shaw sold all his raities in dribs and drabs and goes mountain biking Rob Wigley what happened to him ?

reply to Simon Masqueraders only told us they were not coming 10 days before the event. We managed to replace them with Cody Black, and Bobby Hutton. Cody would have been a big a draw as the Masks had we had time to advertise him !!!! Plus he only got his passport on the sat. as he flew on the Tuesday. Always a problem but we now have a system in place to prevent this...watch out for our first acts being announced within a week, all checked out and ready to come..2,600 sold as i speak !!! Rob ps Spyder Turner bookies will loose their shirts !!! 2 to 1 pps nice to see the Vegas thing up again

  19. As before, "Pyramid" first played at Stafford (by Adam ?), then went BIG in the late 80s when the scene was very undergound again. reminds me of the 100 club. The record was booted to supply demand for the record, however with the addition of the previously un-issued "michigan move" it is something of an oddity as that has never been released on vinyl anywhere before ! Pyramid was taken from an original copy, done in London, and the labels cocked up on each of the 500 copies pressed ! As a detroit fan it has to be worth having to get the un-issued track on 45. they sold at £5 each when done around 1988/89. Also thought this came out on Kent at some point (did it Ady ?) Pity the masters aren't available for a clean copy to be issued. As for anthing its worth as much as you want to pay for it, but don't be surprised if this isn't a future "collectable" in its own right.
