  10. So political and so f***king right ! talking about the state of the ghetto "Whitey's on the moon" is brilliant, a true piece of poetry ! saw him in Sheffield 14 years ago, he's been deported from the UK several times as well ! Not sure when he was last/next over, but promoters are always worried that UK authorities won't let him in ! rob

  12. SORTED -MINT DEMO SECURED. BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED AND REPLIED-SOMEONES GOT A NICE 50TH BIRTHDAY PRESSIE COMING Rob, Still a much sort after item. I sold an issue on eBay for £311 last month!. Although its a Country & Western number and basically a heap of Sh*t to listen to, its the fact its a 500 member that makes it so desirable. You dont often see them for sale but I wouldn't be surprised if the Demo on JM's goes for £3/400. I think the issues are possibly rarer than the demo!?? Good luck with your quest. Al
  13. Thanks for the tip I will pass it on What sort of price is this now ? I just thought it was an "oddball" item Rob

  15. great label EMI-DISC every top record from 1973 to 1979 was issued on it-double siders as well There was a standing joke in Mansfield that a certain Nottingham DJ (still around) had that many EMI's that he couldn't actually pick his record box up anymore I know the hand writing on the one for sale, I've still got a copy of "Hot line"/"Elusive" from Cleethorpes around the same time as this, same hand writting. Then 4 track EMI's started to appear, Still have Billy Woods, Candi Staton, Earnest Mosley & Carol Woods on one which I kept (Ended up with originals of all of them !) Which I suspect may have been done off the decks at Wigan, by a rouge DJ who was later sacked ! alot of legit EMIs had the titles done on a type-writer, seen hundreds of Pop titles on my travels over the years. But I've a confession to make --I LOVE THE SMELL OF THEM Rob
  16. Adam Faith !!???
  17. John these are both issued both in the US and UK on the same labels, UK generally being the hardest, could account for a price difference ? Rob
  18. Just drop another reply on this to keep it in the public eye, HORNCASTLE CANCELLED THIS SATURDAY AT VERY SHORT NOTICE. R & K
  19. Very bad news Nick, Doug and Linda but you are probably better off away from these set of Arseholes who own/run the club. regards rob & karen
  20. So my question is....how much influence should the paying punter have on the music policy? Can of worms my friend-- but if you have a regular event some people come to hear the records that are BIG there at the Hollingwood Hotel a few years back I always tried to squeeze in one or two newer sounds into my last set and then rotate them up the play list from my earlier spot, but the most Instant record in that club was Drizabone "Presure" which was played as a brand new release there. trouble is as a DJ you are seen as predictable at your own venue, but the punters HAVE to leave happy so they will come back next month. No real answer to it Rob
  21. Isn't that the outfit you had on last night Malc?
