  14. Danny Missed this reply as it's quite an old thread. Answer is "No", never on a 45 although he does a version "Live" and it is on the CD Melvin Davis -His greatest recordings-Rock Mill-see below We had hoped to bring him over in 2008-but he was caring for his elderly mother -who died at the end of last year. Melvin has now retired from his job at the Detroit US mail service and is back concentrating on his music, He WILL be back over in the UK in September-first gig is Goovesville Nighter--we are waitng for a couple of interested parties to confirm dates with us for gigs sept/oct. There is a posibility he may be here sooner----- Royalties from the film helped Melvin alot, however they were split 3 ways due to Melvin "giving away" writing credits to JJ Barnes & Don Davis- who have also got a share. There will be more to come on WorldWide DVD sales etc. Melvin has met up with the Dirtbombs-who are a Detroit based Rock/Punk/soul band with a black lead singer-the first comment to Melvin was "We love find a quiet place!!!"-at least 2 of the band have copies! Anyone who fancies putting Melvin on drop me a PM and I will give you details of costings atc. I have a few copies of the CD @£10 each plus £1 P&P-ALL MONEY TO MELVIN Rob & Karen
  15. Right being really Controversial here what about Ray Agee "I'm losing again" Soultown Reputedly "Un-issued" and bootlegged for the "B" side "Good loving woman" I was told by John Hillyard years ago thet "I get want lists all the time from the UK and the first record at the top of the list is always the Ray Agee bootleg ! £2,000 worth of pressing if he's right ! Rob
  16. Most people are very genuine on here and most of us know/ know of each other so there is no where to hide I've picked 3 records up via wants both for myself and 2 mates in the last couple of weeks and sold some cheap stuff that would otherwise just be hanging around. No problems at all. Rob
  17. Magicians (servicemen) on Chartmaker "Sweet magic" ?
  18. Muriel emigrated to Canada in 1971 and continued to perform for several years, before taking up medicine and working as a laser therapist. Thats the Wigan connection then as most there took their weekly mediicine She returned to Belfast in the 1990s and has been a regular on the showband revival circuit and the subject of a TV documentary. anyone seen it ? and I don't know ANYONE called Muriel-do you ? R & K
  19. I bought it for £4.99 as a new release Value will keep going up because of the Stax connection-sought after by the Japs as well Nice Album ! Rob
  20. I heard that Kenny bought a round of drinks once at a Cleethorpes Weekender ? There's a Micky Moonshine thread on here somewhere that tells who he really is Rob
  21. I don't know wether its because i origianly come from Bootleg County-where demand for the pressings was great and readily supplied by lots of retailers (and bootleggers) but I have seen dozens and dozens of a lot of the stuff already mentioned. In fact if i started going around a few mates houses around here I could amass several copies of each-mainly from lads who sold Original items and kept the boots !!! Probably a Nottinghamshire thing ! Rob
  22. Nice one Joe
