  1. sorry Mikey wasn't being rude -just busy-its on Amazon for about £8 new-i'll get it sent for what shall we do for President Burtons 60th ??
  2. And when the Beatles got massive -they were bootlegging those early titles like crazy-some of the early boots are worth more than the originals!
  3. Bloody hell doesn't Keith look young!!
  4. Thats Rod Allsworth country isn't it !!!!! There's another pub opening on Soul Island"The Dodgy Stylus" better known as "The Knackered Needle"
  5. Thanks for the tip off will try and find one-how old is it-the title sounds familiar ! Rob
  6. We will be opening an all night chemist as well-it will be all locked up-- break your own way in through the back Nogger has just been appointed Health Minister! How much for those sounds ? "One shilling and Thre'pence 'alfpenny"
  7. We'd all be micro chipped and the money taken from your bank accounts to a certain level each month. Soul Island record stores and pubs would all run "Tabs"-when a certain level is reached the others would be allowed to catch up -drinking or reord buying--you'd get some extra credit for talking more bollox about matrix numbers etc. banks ? who needs them oh and President Burton will be re-introducing both the 10 Shilling and One pound Notes !
  8. Soul Island it is then There's going to be a wine bar called The Grapevine and one pub called "The tone-arm and Spindle" No import duty on records of any format.
  9. I hear Brad Pitt is lined up to play Rust Wynstainly
  10. Saw this happen in the States years ago as the net took off-myself and tats were in Detroit, we done "half" of a store with 500,000 45s in we hit late on in a trip. We decided to fly back 4 weeks later-to do the other "half" VANISHED into thin air in the space of 4 weeks-not forwarding address -nothing GONE. The owner had moved everything in a weekend -his lease was expiring--so he shut up and set off to go on line to save costs-never did find him again! I think (hope) specialist shops will survive-but its off to the Island I think Rob
  11. Located one in the UK its on its way--still think there's a Yellow issue of the Velvet Satins-I will have to ask Tim
  12. Nice reply-I thought it was just me !!! Ask President Burton to ban the phones-I'm sure he'll be happy to do that on the island -by the way I was at the Barnsley game with your lot before Xmas behind the goal-can you please tell me why I had a sheepskin coat on and the Newcastle fans kept taking their shirts off! it was feckin' freezing! Rob
  13. Don't you just hate it when this happens ! similar tempo-4 voices ? Rob
  14. This was in my face when I switched the PC on today https://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100116/ten-downloads-sound-death-knell-for-reco-8a3eada.html Which isn't a surprise, but along with Pubs closing and the record shops going I thought of buying up an Island (Somewhere warm and not in an earthquake zone) and selling shares in it. We'd have at least 10 Pubs and 20 record shops and soul nights / all nighters every weekend. You'd spend all week around the shops then in to the pubs to refresh your selves then be able to talk bollox about what you found at the weekends events. It would have its own "Soul police" force and anyone caught playing or buying Bootleggs would have a giant bubble chasing them down the beach....I'd also make Malc Burton the President of the Island. Anyone fancy it ? Rob ps I lost track of this thread-I think it was because I was in the company of the "Brandy sisters" last night lost in the Dearn Valley
  15. MINT Sure the Japs will love this as well R & K
  16. I think there is a Yellow copy as well-no swirl. Anybody got one of those Company Sleeves for sale ? Rob
  17. "I spy (for a Face Book Lie )" by the way I remember you at the Torch Rob--you'd dropped your packet of fags behind the decks and were using a torch to find them
  18. I like Facebook for keeping in touch with the USA side of things, which can filter through on to Soul-Source if there is anything ineresting to pass-mainly about Artists, forthcoming gigs or events which may be associated with the rare side of things. Also being interested in the SOUL side of things in the UK a lot of stuff gets thrown up on FB that misses soul-source or EMS. So face book would probably make me check out something that looks good or different in another part of the UK as well. Then I'd post up on Soul Source to let others know and spread the word. Rob
  19. Just seen this on the BBC breakfast news A love TKO-what a great song ! Teddy was on my "Hit list" to see-sadly never to become true. He triumphed over his disability still recording and performing. He has left a huge body of quality music behind for us all to enjoy-thank you Teddy RIP Rob & Karen
  20. Played Midnight affair at the Attic the other week, always reminds me of the early Southport Weekenders-then the "Lost" album was found-every track brilliant soul music-Stax at its best. A very sad end to someone who should have been destined to greater things. RIP sandra Rob & karen
  21. Thats nothing-I saw Gene Woodbury on telly sunday afternoon in Kojak from 1973 !!!
  22. Pete was from Aldershot not seen him since Peterborough days (late 80s) knew him from Wigan. Great bloke and a FAB collection Jon Buck used to put that record on tapes as well, think it was a long standing want of his.... Rob
