  3. and in case you didn't know The children of singer Seal and supermodel Heidi Klum have received tennis lessons from Roger Federer, says Seal. "Roger [Federer has been teaching the kids too. That's one of the joys of being connected in the showbiz industry. It's nice knowing these people," said Seal. "I've had a knock up with him too." The children, however, are only aged 4, 3 and 1. Federer, I think they want you back for their dog too. Seal cannot possible replace Wawrinka, so are we looking at Hiedi Klum for someone? Why not? Chris Evert has already set a precedent. the lad done well-i wonder if he still gets turned away from the local cinema ????? Rob and how about in your best Harry Hill voice-who did the best version of ACIGC--SEAL or SAM --only one way to find out--FIGHT !!
  4. I DONT RECALL HEARING A BAD VERSION OF THIS SOUL MASTERPIECE. SEAL'S IS ESPECIALLY GOOD, CHECK OUT HIS RECENT ALBUM OF SOUL COVERS, COS HE'S NOT AMERICAN DOESN'T MEAN HE AINT GOT SOUL DOES IT??? REPEATING ANOTHER POST HERE BUT THE HAIRS ON THE BACK OF MY NECK WONT GO DOWN WHEN I HEAR IT.

  6. Fu**king Al Green that opening I was BBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORNNNNNNNN by a river! sent a shiver through me Liver and down to the tips of my toes!!
  7. Love ACIGC--the singers who have recorded this-Reading, Cook, Womack can sing it with feeling. You know they have felt the pain and tasted the Chitlin's in grandma's shack. I can sit and listen to Sam sing "I was born by the river" and believe every word its sheer poetry . However the recent cover by Seal was sung well, but you knew damn well that the Pain wasn't there. Great song Rob

An un-sung hero for me is CLIFF STEEL, followed by Carl Fortnum and Ian Clark , all 3 play something a little off the wall and have superb original collections built up over ,many years and have the DJ skills to rescue the dance floor if needed. Best all round DJ Rob Smith by miles !! Rob

  13. Happy Valentines Day Mrs Jumping xx Rob
  14. In a strange way, its probably a little "too good" as in "well produced" and polished and not "raw" enough for the scene, its also a VERY hard record to dance to VERY Fast, but with some off beat bits in there. Love it and owned it since the mid 70s on UK -but it'll never be "just right" IMO Rob
  15. Plus those prices were actually expensive at the time. In 1970 I was still at school but had a Saturday job which paid 2 pounds and ten shillings, so some of those records would have been almost 2/3 of one day's wages at the time. Pretty expensive believe or not. Plus, if my memory serves me correctly, 3 shillings and 6 pence (approximately 32p today) would have bought you Chicory Tip so you made out like a bandit Ian D
  16. A lot of views but no takers Ok then £375, or I start listing them individually tons of £10 ers in there and plenty of scope for making money if you want to split them up. I can't really be bothered to sit and sell them at venues! As I say give me a call.
  17. Sent by PM Rob
  18. Nice to see a bit of authentic "Smoke damage" on the left hand brick Mark--would make a nice pair of ear rings !! Rob
  19. Chris Marriott attended the First All-Nighter Come on Dean Penford I need help-he used to wear a white FRED PERRY with a RED TRIANGLE shaped badge on it with white stitching--remember Dean ? Look out some of your old photos! This was from early 1973 only ever seen a couple of them in 36 years !! The early ones I remember were "Russ and Richard" Heart of soul and the much copied standard Red Rose Wigan Casino badge-which there must be Thousands! Rob
  20. 150 Northern Soul Classics from the Golden age of the 1970s ! Pressings & UK issues. Just bought a Mobile DJ collection and this is his "Northern Floorfillers" box-approx 1974 to 1977. No original US but just seen the price of some of the early Pressing are fetching Loads of legal first issue UK items The records are there for making punters dance !! Guaranteed classic Northern all the way. Not everyones cup of tea, but its where we all started. Too many too list but everyone really well known First £450 £375 Takes the lot-ideal for someone starting out collecting/or DJing at a local "DO". there is at least £800 worth -maybe more-loads of £10 stuff in there. It would take ages to track them all down! All records in Great condition. Come and pick them up--WORKSOP- or I'll pay carriage to anywhere in UK. PM me with your number and I will go through them on the phone Cheers Rob
