  1. I found 2 copies of this bootleg in Subway records in New York in 1979--they look just like the real thing--pre scanners and good photocopiers as well--suspect they were booted for the US market ? Not seen one since then--but as I recall may not be as Crisp printing--a rare boot !!! Rob
  2. Superb, his "dark" past unveiled --I think we can all relate to something in the text-proper soulie--nice find Mike !!

  10. I seen you drive Rob--did you ever pass that test ?? I went with the lads who had Cars-miners around here had tons of cash, you could also take your test at 16 in the early 70s. plus being a skinny bastard they'd squeeze me in ! This filum isn't as "in your face", Wigan Bags ,and all as SB was, low key tasters, quality sound track and the small clip that was on here recently certainly hit the spot. musical sound track sounds good too, only one thing could it be just Too Good ¹ to be commercially viable ? It would end up like a cult film -which may please us on here !!!!!! good luck Elaine-I'm sure you're lurking in the wings ! Rob
  11. As always Mike-nice one !
  12. Syl will be appearing "live" at the Scottish Weekender in November, if you've not seen him live i recommend you get your arse up to Dumfries! saw him at Dave Box's 60th a few years back. Is it because I'm black, one way ticket, etc sound brilliant live.....be there !
  13. by Evalynn J. Saeyang Member since: July 15, 2009 Jerry Leiber Death: Songwriter Dies at 78 August 23, 2011 08:55 AM EDT Legendary songwriter Jerry Leiber's death at the age of 78 has left many in the music industry stunned. He was most well known for his partnership with Mike Stroller. Leiber was also a member of both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Leiber wrote such hits as Elvis' Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock and evenStand By Me, which was sang by Ben E. King. He died on Tuesday from cardio pulmonary failure. This is obviously a sad time for the music industry. Frankly, they just don't make 'em like Leiber anymore. Hopefully, throughout this sad time, Jerry Leiber's family and friends will know that his devote fans will always hold him dear to their hearts. His death is surely being mourned by many. Fortunately, Leiber's amazing gift will always be available. Along with the hits they Wrote for The Drifters....a massive loss to music along side the death of Nick Ashford-I'm sorry to say it but we're getting old folks !! RIP Jerry.
  14. Underrated and understated the talent of Ashford and Simpson agree with all the comments above, my favourite track must be "It seem to hang on" But don't forget The brilliant "I'm every woman" soul with the commercial appeal RIP Nick sad news indeed Rob
