  2. Important Urgent

    Scarborough Spa Weekender

Due to severe weather and exceptional high tides forecast for Friday evening.

North Yorkshire Council have issued a closure notice on the entire Spa Complex due to health and safety reasons.

The NYSC wish to apologise for this unexpected closure which is completely out of ours and the Spa management hands.

However we are hopeful that we can resume on Saturday afternoon at 12.00 noon and the weekender will proceed as normal.

We would ask if you can get this message out to others who are travelling to the Spa and help spread the word .

We reopen  Saturday at 12 noon.

    Thank you

  4. Just a quick updated on the 2023 Scarborough Weekender.

John Kane from BBC Radio Sheffield has been added to the line up, he will be doing two sets, Friday night down stairs in our second room featuring classic soul from across the decades and upstairs in the Main Northern Soul room on Saturday night.

For those who have never been and fancy a more chilled out event in a great Yorkshire seaside town this makes an ideal weekend break with a backdrop of soul music to suit all tastes.

See updated flyer for current DJ line up.

Tickets have been flying out these last couple of weeks and we anticipate an early sell out this year! All DJs on the flyer have been allocated tickets, but some have already sold out !

PM me on here or use the links on the flyer to buy tickets.

Please note tickets are just £35.00 each when purchasing them from our agents, however if you use the Scarborough Spa Box Office you will incur booking fees and charges which have nothing to do with the promoters.

    Hopefully see you there

  10. Thanks for your kind comments and positive vibes, both we and other large promoters put hours of work in behind the scenes to make these events run smoothly. You don't just "turn up and do it".

This goes for The teams at The Spa and EYEvents. Days and weeks wasted. Here's our official statement, thanks to everyone for your patience, understanding and loyalty to these events.

ECSCSC PRESS RELEASE. Monday 14th June 2021

Dear Friends, DJs and Bridlington Weekender ticket holders. It is with great sadness that we have to report this year’s June Northern Soul weekender has been cancelled following today’s Government announcement.

We, the ECSCSC, are bitterly disappointed that this event has been cancelled once again, however, as responsible promoters, the safety and well being of everyone attending  any of our events IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. EYEvents, The Spa and Bridlington Council have issued a joint statement to this effect which we have published on the Soul Media.

    What happens next?

     You have 3 options.

    1) All purchased tickets will be automatically rolled over and valid for next year’s event dated 24th, 25th & 26th June 2022. Please note, as the 2022 June Weekender sees a rise in ticket cost to £35.00 (held over from 2021), this cost will only apply to any newly purchased tickets dated June2022.

As a “Thank you” for your patience and loyalty we will honour the rolled over tickets without any price rise, just safely hold on to your current tickets dated 2020/21.

    2) Tickets MUST be returned to the point where you purchased them from for a full refund. Contact them directly and if posting, please return your tickets as detailed in point 3 below.

    3) Now some good news!  We have been offered a” fall back” date to run a new ”Spring Bonus” weekender on the 4th & 5th March 2022, for which we have been making contingency plans. This is an additional date and a new 3 roomed event at Bridlington Spa and will complement our existing promotions. Tickets are priced at £30.00 each and will be available soon from our usual sellers more details to follow.

If you would like to exchange your current 2020/21 dated tickets for this new 2 day event in March, please contact and return your tickets to your original point of purchase and they will exchange them for you.

Please note, due to expected demand, ticket printing etc. please allow up to 8 weeks for exchanges or refunds to be processed, especially from The Spa box office that have to deal with several other large concerts/events which have also been cancelled.

If returning your tickets by post, make sure they are sent by Recorded or for larger amounts by Special delivery as we cannot be held responsible for Post Office mishandling and losses which may occur on unsecured mail.  No ticket, No Exchange or Refund.

Thank you very much for your continued support in these unprecedented times. Obviously this isn’t the outcome that any of us had hoped for, but safety is our and our partner’s main priority.

Rob Wigley, Pat Brady & Rob Wicks for the ECSCSC

  11. OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE SPA

Following the latest government announcement delaying stage 4 of the roadmap out of lockdown in England, seeing the removal of all legal limits on social contact, Bridlington Spa have announced the cancelation of those show planned without social distancing for the period between Monday 21 June and Sunday 18 July.

The affected shows are Northern Soul Weekender scheduled for Friday 25 to Sunday 27 June and The Best of Take That tribute show planned for Sunday 4 July.

Tickets for Northern Soul will remain valid for 2022, if customers have any queries, they should contact their point of purchase. Ticket holders for The Best of Take That tribute show will be automatically refunded.

General Manager, Mark Lonsdale said regarding the news “We are hugely disappointed that we are not able to see the return of shows without social distancing being in place. With more than 2,000 people booked for the Northern Soul Weekend it was immediately obvious to us and the Promoters that as soon as the delay was announced, the event had to be cancelled for this year.

“Northern Soul Weekend is one of the highlights of our year and with the cancellation, economically it is a huge loss to the town. After almost 17 months of restrictions we were looking forward to seeing the return of shows without legal limits being in place.

“We carry on planning for the eventual lifting of all legal limits, and in the meantime continue to produce socially distanced entertainment. Our café with indoor and newly installed outdoor seating will remain open and look forward to what we hope will be a busy summer ahead for Bridlington”.

  12. Who's told you that one Mark ? If the road map does roll out its business as normal. However things can change and its all about protecting the NHS

Here's my latest post from Facebook after yesterdays Prime Ministers statement:-

    Dear Friends

We are aware of the Prime Ministers statement regarding the Indian variant of the virus.

We are meeting at Bridlington on Tuesday with all relevant parties regarding the safe running of the Weekender and what conditions it will entail.

We will update you all accordingly when we know more.

    Many Thanks

    Rob for ECSC.

  13. A quick up date

All is looking good at the moment  for the Weekender

We are meeting with all the powers that be on the 18th May If the Government roadmap is still on course, we are up and running.

However we have already initiated plans for entry checks, ticket exchange etc, which are slightly different to previous years.

A quick reminder, to attend this event you MUST have a valid Ticket,  There will be No Cash Sales or ticket "pick ups" on the door.

Full update when we know more

    Rob for ECSC
