  1. Richard Pryor was on in concert on Friday. Very naughty BUT very funny. He actually did the mashed potatoe during his session.
  2. Hi Dave Used to bump into you a lot when I was hitching with Tony Warot back then. Was just thinking of Angie and Heather the other day. Generally we would see you at Hilton Park on the Sunday around midday. Any idea how Angie and Heather are now? Regards Steve
  3. Fair enough. The job does not let me get it wrong. Had to work out various CGT liabilities for non, basic and higher rate tax payers in an exam last year. Twisted my blood I can tell you.
  4. Hitched to Cleethorpes back then. Bloody nightmare. Bedford to Peterborough then up through Sleaford to Lincoln ( with a vicar). Met two girls from Boston and got a train with them to Cleethorpes. Got lift home via Doncaster then train to Huntingdon or maybe Peterborough then hitched the rest of the way.
  5. Was not one of the first replies about the taxman?
  6. That seems logical
  7. Totally agree.
  8. Yes but you still get a better price, after his costs, as he has worldwide clients and I think the best knowledge. Worked for me!
  9. Better change your accountant the CGT exemption rate is £10,600 for this tax year same as last. My view on this is get Pete S on the job and sell that way. Far easier. Maybe auction big ticket items via JM, gets better prices generally as we all know. Speaking from experience.
  10. I recall a similar thing when Al Williams was big. RS had it on Labeat and John Poole said he had it on Palmer. Cue debate. Of course both were right. Always thought Frankie Karl was 7th Ave Aviators, just given makeover by label before release on Congress.Sounds the same to me to be honest. See you Sat Steve.
  11. Saw Stevie Wonder at the MEN Manchester a couple of years ago. TOTALLY OUTSTANDING. Getting teary eyed as I type this. Saw the late Teddy Prendergrass at Apollo Manchester. Stunning. Maze featuring Frankie Beverley. Many times. My fave I reckon. Saw the 4 Tops at the Golden Garter in Wythenshawe Manchester when they were in a slump. Got backstage and they signed the cover of I,ll turn to stone. Gave it to Alan Pollard. Northern gigs NOTHING matches Betty Wright at WC. Bloody hell!
  12. Will Collins Anything I can do. Matter of interest my rock loving son is 16 and plays the guitar. He will listen to many Soul tunes and comment on the "sad" nature of the lyrics. Perceptive eh?
  13. I remember having Supremes Greatest Hits ( Blue back ground with drawings of the girls). COME SEE ABOUT ME. I used to play it as I was getting ready for school everyday. Still love the tune. First paypacket bought Ojays Backstabbers. My dad said you cant go spending your money on records!! IF ONLY EH?
  14. That 4 Tops LP is superb. Still got it somewhere.
  15. Dont they call this the patteener ( spelling) on antiques?
  16. Talk of EP being rare. This has to be much rarer?
  17. My brother in law took tap classes asan adult to help his Northern moves.
  18. Remember a Friday oldies with RS playing Job Opening Belles Inspirations No one else Fats Domino Raining Jimmy Mack Frankie Beverley Wanted. Good tunes and worth the entry money. Three for me Ray Agee John + Weirdest Billy Woods
  19. Had a GB related problem years ago, sent it back and dot refund from dealer who should have known better. The record was resold by same guy at a weekender. When the buyer became aware he rang and insisted on his money back BEFORE returning the record. Money arrived and he returned the tune complete with hole drilled through the vinyl.
