  1. Hi mate what price Never for me please?
  2. It was more clear cut in the 70s due to the turnover of tunes. So something like Leon Haywood was an oldie where as Yvonne Baker was not! Now of course IF I own it I most likely is an oldie. That's because I am an oldie now!
  3. Really sad news Phil dropped dead over the weekend. Phil was a keep fit guy. Always running , marathons, cross country etc. He rode his bike all over. Phil was very much at the forefront of soul music travelling miles for many years. Seeing live gigs, upfront all nighters and soul nights. I am stunned he has died. A good mate, he was also my postie! Always having a crack about his Utd v my Spurs. Naughty comments written on record parcels mentioning my latest purchase in rude terms. I am shocked. So sorry for Bernie , Alex and his family.

  8. Unless I have missed it ( I cant find original thread), any news on the record digging book? Please.
  9. Julian I sold Alans a few years back for £500.
  10. As Chris L said only the blank labels were "found"!!
  11. Still laughing at Peter99 with tinnitus and being deaf..... not much use as a music lover??
  12. Now you got me!! I personally think the run out groove is the measure. I remember them being pressed back in the day. It was so obvious. I have owned both, not got now though. I reckon you have a good un!
  13. The marks seem ok, but the easy way is that the boot label has a dip with a raised ridge. Boot has a run out groove nearly an inch wide. Original run out is as you describe. Good stuff sounds ok.
  14. Best to ask the dealer yourself. Deals can be arranged.
  15. Cant believe that! RIP lad!
  16. Looking for Love is not a game please? Will pay around £35 to £40.
  17. Nice on Ady. Sadly no spare cash.
  18. I won a Blues and Soul "Supremes" comp. Got a signed copy of their LP at the time High Energy or something similar.
  19. Think it was the Prophets!! My 2 things were at WC in about 75/76 a lad from that area was selling an issue for £6. The problem was it had 3 cracks. He let me take it home to play. I gave it back the next week. Could not risk it. No 2 I bought Robert John Raindrops Love and Sunshine around the same time , paid the cash and promptly it slipped out of the sleeve and took a chunk out of the run in groove. I had not owned it more than 2 mins.
  20. Yes ditto to what Steve said. Great tunes.
  21. Yes I then got stung for a second Mel Britt from a dealer who swore blind his was original. Eventually got Mel Britt, Eula Cooper and Carol and Gerri on the same night towards the end of Wigan for about £20 the lot. Still have them all.
  22. Got my first Mel Britt from that bloody list. You had it in the Pilgrims Inn one evening.
  23. PM sent. Most likely not on this until Monday morning now. Will talk then?
