  1. I can honestly say that Tim is quite often, more than surprised at what some of the items he auctions, realize monetarily. Personally, i dont compare anyone elses site to be as good or realistic as Anglo American. There have been some staggeringly rare items auctioned here, they continue to do so as private collectors begin to let go of their treasures, a good many of which may never have seen a sale or auction since they were first purchased...and perhaps a few that afficianados may never have heard of?
  2. No mandate to play tried and tested classics, lots of tuneage will plenty legs, that needs playing too!...expect something different
  3. Yes, i missed it by 20 mins.....if it had gone up at 5am this morning, i wouldve beat the burglers to it!!
  4. True Love - Jamie Anyone want to sell for the right price please?
  5. I was at that all nighter, distinctly remember 3 people in the final, dance-off on the stage...the two guys were backdropping and all the pyrotechnics to win but you just danced!....and won itonly thing i wasnt sure about was, whether it was 74 or 75...you set the record straight there.

    ANSTICE SOUL NIGHT

Quality tuneage, across the board 60 n 70's club Soul, Northern, Rnb, Motown classics and twist of ska!️️️️️
  7. Nobody could touch Richard for c/ups!, every tune there, an absolute smash...even without Christine Cooper and Bobby Jason
  8. Absolutely spot on with that observation, the ultimate orchestral arrangement....suprised Maconie missed that....what a glaring error!
  9. I remember Neil telling me about his meeting with Joey Jefferson, when he came back from the states, at his shop in Lichfield St, Walsall...i think Joey packed a gun...and was a bit wary of Neil on account of not knowing who he was?
  10. Steve, been looking forward for ages pal!, coming down tomorrow instead make a proper long weekend of it....fingers crossed the weather holds, she be a cracker!
  11. Packed and ready, records sorted, fuelled up, 120 miles to cover but passes very quickly. Always worth a stopover in Shrewsbury, and deffo after a long drive but, so much to see and do there as well as attending this fabulous venue. Ive mentioned before there are lots of hotel, bnbs etc and at pretty much market prices. Shrewsbury train station is a junction from where you can reach any destination, and the m54 motorway network is close by as well as main arteries, the A49 and A52. Please try and arrive early if you require seating and this tends to go quick. The start of a great May Day bank holiday weekend begins, right here at the Madonic Hall, or Soul @ The Church as we know it. Be safe travelling and looking forward to seeing you all there.
  12. Ah....thats hung in the wardrobe still....i couldnt match Ted's stunning attire, let alone his records i do occasionally try to look half decent...hope the music's not too bad either
  13. A quick calendar check reveals, there's nothing else on in Shropshire this Saturday night so, unless youre thinking of travelling further afield, then Shrewsbury has to be a very good decision!, fast coming up to holiday time as well and this is the last function before summer recess, get your shoes polished, and be prepared for a night of quality tuneage!....hopefully see a few more new faces/visitors alongside the regular crew. Soul at the Chirch is for dancers only!️️️️️
  14. INFACT.....having just played it, at home, the exhileration comes flooding back, this structured orchestrations dynamic is breathtaking. In 73 it was hairs on the back of the neck stuff....and still is....the greatest by asskciation, Northern Soul instrumental of ALL time?, thats always been a pretty complex argument...but tell me this dosnt rank in the top 5, if not TOP.....it has EVERYTHING required to drive a dancefloor....it did 50 years ago, and still does now....and those musicians would probably relish getting their teeth into this.
  15. Absolutely have to agree with the suggestion of " Afternoon On The Rhino ". Fact is, Mike Post lead an orchestra on it anway, so an interprtation here should and would be able to replicate it to perfection....and amplified in that cavernous amphitheatre.....wow!, that would be very special......off hand, there arent too many instrumentals that lend theirselves easily to this feature...Double cooking, with its string section....Motown would be more obvious a choice to look at, but would that negate the Northern soul subject matter?
