  1. This looks like a re-hash of the cd Decca issued maybe 15 years ago/more/less? Sonny Childe is great, obviously not a stormer, whereas Tony Newman i heard played early doors at the Casino....but it was probably played before then anyway.
  2. A local lady indeed, and a regular supporter of this function, Rose has an impressive collection of tunes, here's the opportunity to get to hear, and dance to what she has to offer!...another great sermon promised at Shrewsbury's best kept secret venue...THE CHURCH️️️️️
Second visit to this much better, more tasteful and homely venue. Dimension wise, its perfect!, adequate seating, reasonably large floor, and a quality one if just in need of a polish?, low slung ceiling making for great accoustics....Baz Maleedy's set up is 1st class anyway. Exceedingly good to see so many 'usual suspects' from both Lowton and indeed, Prestwich eras, lots of smiley faces, embraces, handshakes and invigorated dancing to a plethora of tunes you just wouldn't expect to hear at your bog standard soul night, not astonishingly rare but sounds that have been around long enough to remain fresh and untainted by bootlegging or legit releasing....played by discerning djs with an ear for quality music. Top night!️️️️️ well done all the Culcheth team, plus guests and folks who turned up from far and wide...renewed acquaintances achieved and a satisfactory evening realized.....result!! Big UP for the forthcoming ' Grumpy ' here....but deffo NO long faces!
  3. The phrase is in danger of becoming an expletive!!
  4. Original vinyl here ( album, that is... )
  5. What?...the venue with " legendary djs "?
  6. Loaded a few pics instead of tunes....a bit late in the day now to suggest to folk if you have any of Lowton, post them up HERE.....but, it wouldve been nice if YOU ALL had taken rhe intitiative, afterall...THEY'RE memories too, like the music....i bet theres folk who have pics from when it first started ( 97 or 96 i think ) those halcyon days when you queued round the block and folk had to park on the field because the car park was already full!
  7. The first of 4 quarterly events at Anstice Hall in Madeley, features guest dj, KEV SMITH ( pictured ) alongside ROB MUNT, STEW PITT and RUSS REEVES. A superb night of none stop floorfillers, GUARANTEED!

  11. The weekend will be upon us before we know it, and the festive spirit is revving up for the weekend!, A Saturday night out at The Church of Kool is no different...tons of stuff on and amidst all the choice, Shrewsbury's capital event stands alone as the venue to be at in this county, its the last event of 2023, and the Christmas sermon really is one of the very best, for atmosphere, music and dancing. Just £5 admission which is spot on, a more than fair rate for the season of good cheer!. We're likely to see more than a few travellers and first timers who want to see and hear just what this function is all about....16 years in the making cant be wrong! 13. Levy was also ' Mob 'probably made more money from the bootlegging of his own records!
  14. These two fine lads have been promoting this ace venue for 16 years!, thats pretty cool in Shropshire history!!️️️️️Russ and Mark always play to the floor, across the board music and always plenty of ' forgotten ' oldies and club classics. And always well supported by a loyal local crowd, laced with a good many travellers from all over, literally!. The Capital of Shropshire and an absolute capitol idea to come and pay this ' best kept secret ' a visit....and get Christmas off to a cracker of a start!
  15. Roddie Joy - " If There's Anything Else You Want " though, it does actually sound like it was cut in Detroit.
  16. First time i ever met Andy was in the Merry England, Blackpool North Pier on the occasion of the 1st Togetherness weekender in the Tower, 2006. He certainly loved to play across the board and his knowledge has borne that out....what an utterly devasting piece of news to view...Andy was part of ' the furniture ' on here and well respected by so many. Sincere condolences to all his family and close friends. Rest In Peace.
  17. Dorothy Williams - missing off the list, can you post with price please?
  18. And.....arranged by the legendary, Johnny Pate...on Curtis' own label, thumper of a tune....tucked away in folks collections and not on discogs.
  19. December's guest dj is a regular visitor and a very popular dj around shropshire and the west mids, the latter being where STEVE CHURCH holds a residency at the BRADMORE CLUB, in Wolverhampton. Steve has an eclectic selection of tunes in his box and knows how to mix and match to a high standard...so...expect some quality dancefloor fireworks from this TOP bloke!️️️️️
