  1. I'd wouldn't sell my copy either but one went on Soul Source a few weeks back for £60. Dave
  2. Wishing your lady a speedy recovery. Nice tracks, thanks for sharing. Dave
  3. Nice flip side as well. Dave
  4. You're welcome Peter. I've had that Dynamic Superiors track for years and never tire of playing it. I also love the instrumental flip to "Beginning of my life" and as for that Sam Dees LP, not a bad track on it, but "good guys" is pretty special to my ears. Take care, Dave
  5. Some nice choices in there Peter, a lot of my favourites as well. Dave
  6. Have to agree Chris. I've decided to pay up and put it down to experience. I've also decided to stop viewing listings on my smartphone where the fine print is even harder to see. Cheers, Dave
  7. I had a similar experience with a car part I ordered online. Waited 7 days and it never turned up. I was only made aware of this because I contacted the seller to query my parcel's whereabouts. Seller told me that UK mail tried to deliver the parcel on two consecutive days without success as I wasn't in. I know for a fact that I was in etc, etc. Said they left a card but they didn't etc, etc. Phoned seller to ask what they were gonna do about the whole situation only to be told that I would have to pay postage to get it sent out again, they even hinted that I may have to pay the return postage when UK mail couldn't deliver first time round... What a shower of fu##ing jokers all round to be honest. Gave it a week and was completely ignored so I applied for a refund on my Visa credit card which I'd used for the transaction. I got a full refund 2 days later. Dave
  8. You still looking for this? Dave
  9. Cheers Paul. I did a similair thing as an 'Mp3 Album" a few weeks ago of 25 Detroit tracks and quite a few of yours were in there as well ;-) As you say an impossible task to include so few, looks like I'll be starting volume 2 soon. Cheers Dave.
  10. My Dad had an Akai amp in the late 70's with a one of those stereo mono switches. I had always wondered why my 60's soul 45's sounded distorted on the high notes but carried on ignorant nonetheless for ages, well I was still a teenager. Then one day I was playing Diane Lewis "I thank you kindly on my head phones and it sounded bloody awful. For some unknown reason I pushed the mono button on the amp and the record sounded perfect! I always make sure that I play mono records in mono ever since. Dave
  11. Dave, It's Probably a silly question but how did so many soul records end up In Japan? Dave
  12. Indeed it is, did they ever release a dud? Dave
  13. Great work Dave. I feel that it's just as important preserving the labels as it is the music. Keep it up. Dave
  14. Chris Jones is my nomination or rather the guitar playing during the intro: Thankfully it was in tune by the time Frank Hutton/Hutson was recorded Dave
  15. Have to say a big "Thank you" to Dave Rimmer as well. Such a brilliant and useful site. Keep up the great work-I owe you a few pints. Dave
  16. Cheers Pete, didn't know that. Dave
  17. I was always of the opinion that there are no UK styrene 45's? Dave
  18. So very true Steve. What used to be my 'Record/music Room' is now my daughter's bedroom.....but I wouldn't have it any other way ;-). Dave
  19. I stand to be corrected but it took me a year to track down my copy. Not expensive, just tricky to track down. Good luck with it, it's an exceptional 45. Dave
  20. ....and Margie Joseph....

  22. That's exactly right Jordirip. I love it when that rhythm guitar kicks in (Phil Upchurch?) it completely transforms the track. BTW, Steve, there's a copy of the 45 on eBay at the moment. One sold last week for around £10 which is what you should be paying. Good luck with it. Dave
