Richard Bergman a young gun? You're having a laugh-he was born 50 P.S He has got great records tho..whatever his real age..(maybe I'm a little bit biased.... )

I think they play/played this on the mod scene..not sure if they still do but sure they did in the 80s... Davie or Mace would know.
  4. This one does it for me
  5. "Move on up" , every Wednesday at the Hi Fi club in Leeds
  6. Hey I wanna play Hilda (Is that what she was called who did the Wigan door?? Dave, Andy??)
  7. I'm surprised that Paul Sadot isn't in this what with his mate from Dead Mans Shoes in it too...he doesn't look any older than Paddy Considine and he can do all that 70s northern dancing with the floorwork, spinning etc. Would have thought he'd have been perfect for a part in this, especially cos of his knowledge of the scene back then having been part of it plus , obviously, directing the Wigan play.
  8. Incidentally the Scottish film has been shown, it's a great piece of work but I think they gave up on trying to find 'young' dancers though and just went for good dancers. Where'd you see it Rach?
  9. Well he's always bragging about his 2 CSEs so he must be DOn't tell Ana tho
  10. I think it's if you can get away with being between those ages...Steve Cato has been in a couple of these now (Soul Function and another one filmed in Scotland that hasn't seen daylight yet) and it's a while since he saw 30... Anyway if you want my two pennyworth (no????) I don't think the film's gonna get younger people swarming back to the scene...I keep hearing the This england analogy but remember in those days there were only 3 channels on telly and nowt much else going on...that was more the reason people were attracted to Wigan etc by watching the programme. These days in the current lowest common denominator X Factor/Pop Idol, text a pizza society it really would be too much like hard work for most under 30s to seek out a northern soul event I think.
  11. My mum - The ballads of course....anything from Old Big Nose (Bazza Manilow) thru Gladys Knight to Neil Sedaka Dad - Country, folk...well that's if you class the Fivepenny piece as folk Brother - Punk..what do you expect after the above?? 7 yr old daughter - loves Busted and Mc Fly but also loves any soul with catchy bits like Suddenly-Tony Drake (she likes the oo ah ah bit), Royal Esquires, and the Jackson Sisters Him indoors - Rare soul mainly but assorted other stuff including doo wop, strange european sixties music , folk and even the dreaded jazz Some of his albums scare me to be honest....and that's before I've listened to em, just looking at the covers
  12. Think that mini is Mrs Manship's. Saw it outside his castle when I went down in May. Well, I'm assuming it's hers...could be his..perhaps he's taken up a sideline profession of hairdressing..maybe times have got a bit hard
  13. If you say so.......
  14. Yes you are correct-one of my smaller errors
  15. I'm shakin-Little Willie John Wade in the Water-Little Sonny Love aint nothin-Johnny Nash baby don't you weep-Wilson Pickett/Fred Bridges Let him be your boy-Wilson Pickett Raining Teardrops_The Rockmasters...or maybe that's a bit doo wop??
  16. It isn't mine- but if I can ever sneak it out of the house it's yours for a tenner I can always play her the cd...
  17. If You Don't Come - Patience Valentine Aw please tell me you don't really like this-it makes my skin crawl. The vocal is the scariest thing ever..I can make my 7 year old daughter do ANYTHING if I threaten her with a few bars of this record
