  1. My mum - The ballads of course....anything from Old Big Nose (Bazza Manilow) thru Gladys Knight to Neil Sedaka Dad - Country, folk...well that's if you class the Fivepenny piece as folk Brother - Punk..what do you expect after the above?? 7 yr old daughter - loves Busted and Mc Fly but also loves any soul with catchy bits like Suddenly-Tony Drake (she likes the oo ah ah bit), Royal Esquires, and the Jackson Sisters Him indoors - Rare soul mainly but assorted other stuff including doo wop, strange european sixties music , folk and even the dreaded jazz Some of his albums scare me to be honest....and that's before I've listened to em, just looking at the covers
  2. Think that mini is Mrs Manship's. Saw it outside his castle when I went down in May. Well, I'm assuming it's hers...could be his..perhaps he's taken up a sideline profession of hairdressing..maybe times have got a bit hard

  16. Have to agree, I've been into this scene since I was 15 or so but when I got into it everybody was still quite young! Wigan hadn't long finished, the mod and scooter scenes were busy so the scene had a much younger average age. I can't honestly remember anybody much older than late twenties at the likes of Morecambe, Warrington etc (in the mid 80s). I'm sure I would have been put off otherwise. I think that younger people will enjoy themselves at venues where there's a higher than average amount of younger people (like New Century), BUT the combination of not knowing the music and a load of geezers older than your dad would definitely put a lot off! It's natural for younger people to want to spend time with people more their own age

Exactly, somebody's got it who isn't a well known dj and he/she wants to sell it. No mystery

    Im Gone

Eddie Parker was held up at gunpoint to give up his one remaining personal copy...the robber was last seen mopping his brow with a beer towel driving up the north Wales coast yelling "I'm gone".... It's real...I've seen it

  20. Fair's fair the chap does a free events listing that's pretty comprehensive..I'm sure most of us use it. It's just a special offer he's got on at the moment which may lead to him getting more business in the future..if he doesn't carry on getting business he won't be able to afford to keep publishing it. And there are plenty of scooterists who aren't lager spilling,King Kurt dancing knuckleheads out there...me for one
