  1. I love Quadrophenia, warts, mistakes and all
  2. Blo*dy Hell Paul, are you my other half in disguise? That's nearly exactly what he said when I told him about this thread
  3. I can see why some of you are bothered about history being rewritten...but surely we can wait and see what happens first before going too mad? It may be a masterpiece, it may bomb..film makers will always use a certain amount of artistic license but I'm sure that the makers have consulted with some experts (didn't somebody mention Keb Darge..surely he's a good enough expert????)... Do any of us know what the background to the film idea is? Maybe the producer went to Wigan or something? However...and this is a small point....Im not sure about Barbara Lewis, Stars in a Wigan context? I love it but it doesn't shout Wigan to me
  4. Superfly - Curtis Mayfield
  5. summertime - billy stewart
  6. Suddenly -Tony Drake
  7. Does SOS count?? Sunny - Marvin Gaye Stars - Barbara Lewis
  8. He won't, they're well loved up them two
  9. Oh Derek you're sooo right, you're such a star...what a great guy
  10. I was going to sign up to be an extra as I'm not too old but the on line form put me off a bit...how fat are you!!! How big are your feet???
  11. That's a different one again Function in the Junction(short) was released on dvd with a documentary called Soul Function and Steve played one of the dancers in a competition . That's the one with Paul Kaye as the dj and the speed freak The one on the train with just Steve travelling to London was a three minute thing for Channel 4
  12. As featured in the middle pages of Manifesto
  13. Anna Ford?? I had you down for Hilda
  14. The short film Function at the junction is the one with the bloke on speed..it's the actor who played Cracker's son...been in loads of stuff, forgotten his name. Mr Cato is in it with a huge afro They are now doing a full length feature based on this. Then there's the other film Souled out mentioned by JeffW above-he's the writer I think
  15. The 100 club all girl night was good because it had a really diverse line up-Ali Nightingale (one of the best for me ), Janine and her Dobie Gray, Karen, Val..possibly Lisa Hurley (may be wrong on that one..) don't think Joanie did it to be honest, sure she'll confim...and Ady as the honorary girl I don't think it should matter what sex you are, if you're good enough -you should be picked on merit....And there's plenty of God awful male djs...I read some of the playlists on here and I weep
  16. I never got one...is Reg not a girly name? PLus I actually know Michelle (Catfish)... : Don't mind female events if they are there on merit as Joan said.
  17. And equally you could just ignore posts on here you don't agree with Lou seems to support a lot of nights from what I can see so why shouldn't she express an opinion?
  18. Yep that sounds about right Mrs Soul And I'm certain Steve wasn't having a pop against all charity events but there are rather a lot and sometimes it does make you feel old when you think nearly every bloody night out is for charity. I would have thought the main reason most of us go out is to escape real life?
  19. Steve I don't remember you jumping to my defence the time I voiced my concerns about charidee events Which particular event has rattled the cage today? Are the large fonts getting to you? I said are the large fonts getting to you?
  20. Leather soled loafers like Bass Wejuns are/were far nicer....polyveldts were shoes for teachers or old people...some kids at school had the beige coloured ones....not a good look. And how anybody thought they were good for dancing in??? Weren't the soles rubber?
  21. Steve I think that thread title is up there in contention for the most outrageous and eye catching thread title on Soul Source. It's neck and neck with Donna's "Breasts" thread the other week
  22. Just to say it isn't this Reg he means Bad luck Pete, I know you must be gutted that you've been let down like this. I won't have anybody say anything bad about you-I mean you've even sent me free records! How cool is that for an unscrupulous record dealer!!!
  23. I think that's about right Gareth!
  24. Broughton Wings
  25. Joe I can't believe you said that...I thought that too!! I love the Dells but the backing track is the Power of Love!!!
