  1. Mine were dumped in a drawer for 20 odd years until I sold them on ebay, think I got about 30 quid each for them. I sold 2 to a guy in Italy.
  2. 2 lace holes on comos as I remember, but might be wrong.
  3. I'd love to find some comos, I've been looking for years. I know someone who found a brand new, still in the box pair in a charity shop back in the 80's, my size too, the lucky sod.
  4. I'm in North Wales and I can't get on it
  5. I joined a crossover and a deep soul group which were very good, loads of stuff which was new to me and a lot of interesting info about the tunes. I went to Wigan Casino is ok for old photos but that's about it.
  6. I'm not on fb anymore, but when I was I saw so many records on the Wigan page that were Wheel,Torch or early mecca tunes and thought, what's the point ? Do they all still sign off their posts with KTF or KOKO.
  7. don't know if I've done this right. Me in the middle, Koffi from Llandudno leaning on the Moggy and Mick from Newcastle in the Transit, around '77 ish
  8. Minshull's spots were my cue to bugger off to M's for an hour or so.
  9. I only went to Stafford a couple of times so a lot of these tunes are new to me even though a friend used to lend me tapes from time to time (Hartley from Llandudno if anyone remebers him). Some great stuff on these podcasts (the odd one or two that aren't, but that happened everywhere). I was going to say keep 'em coming, but there can't be that much more left can there?
  10. I'm sure I remember some of the Mecca crowd with whistles at the Ritz about '77-'78
  11. I think the same sort of thing happened with punks as well
  12. bit off topic maybe but I remember Dave playing rubberneckin' by Elvis at Wigan, another pile of crap imho. By the way whatever happened to Jimmy Small?
  13. Do you believe it / Dearly Beloved - Jack Montgomery
  14. Still at the mercy of your love Walter Jackson Groovy situation Gene Chandler I cry alone Ruby and the Romantics
  15. You're right there it was pretty crap, I've still got one with the poll where Wigan was voted the best of everything.
  16. And it's made of 'silky' 100% polyester ffs
  17. Didn't go to Wigan at all in the last year, most of the crowd I went with had moved on, joined the army or moved in with girlfriends, I was made redundant for the first time and I felt the crowd at the allnighters was changing. I went to stafford a couple of times, Parr Hall and a few other places up until the late 80's. I can remember nights when the punters where outnumbered by the bouncers and the bar staff. By '88/'89 I thought it was all over and decided to flog my records. I have been to the odd soul night/'nighter since then but can't really be bothered any more. I still love the music though especially some thing new.
  18. Keith Minshull was my cue to f*ck off to M's he played some dreadful sh*te
  19. I've just closed my Face book account down, I don't need to know where any of my so called 'friends' are at any given time of the day and night, nor do I need to see photo's of cakes they've just baked or what they're having for tea ffs.
  20. A mate of mine was a coach driver who used to go to the Wheel, he used to show his badge to get in free (it wasn't the one you mention though) I think he was about 27 ish at the time.
  21. I was 22 in '78 and I remember somebody saying to me 'I hope I'm still going when I'm your age'
  22. Always makes me smile when I see this one because the one on the left looked like me at the time. No I wasn't DS honest.Got searched by a DS with a bald head once on the balcony he looked ancient to me must have stood out like a sore thumb
  23. I thought Joey Heatherton was a Richard spin, but I may be wrong (I usually am ) was it Russ that played Prince and Princess Stick Together ?
  24. you just should not mess with a true classic ffs
  25. Great record, I think I paid a quid for it 30 odd years ago
