  1. Not a big Stevie wonder fan but 'Never dreamed you'd leave in summer'
  2. Could have been either Dick Collins or Big E, Dick was the one with all the decent records, he took over when E got sacked or left, not sure exactly what happened.
  3. All big tunes at Paynes Cafe Royal just down the road in LLandudno at the same time
  4. How about Restless by Margie Hendrix
  5. Don't really care where he's from, this does not sound like a soul record to me, that's just my opinion (I'm sure I'm not the only one).
  6. No it's because he sounds like Val Doonican
  7. Ray Merrel - Soul? hmm I don't know about that.
  8. 'The Real Thing' appeared at Paynes Cafe Royal a few times around '70 - '72 and were known as 'Vocal Perfection' back then. I think they changed their name when they appeared on Opportunity Knocks.
  9. Velvelettes for me, Blue Sharks not in the same league.
  10. The Works , in the shopping centre, still a few copies left when I got mine this morning.
  11. Just got mine in Colwyn Bay, that's me sorted for tomorrow.
  12. That's right, my old man didn't pass his Jim Reeves records on to me.
  13. Taking fancy dress to a new level
  14. Bit off topic but I got my Carlena Weaver in a soul pack, 10p.
  15. Love Love Love - Bobby Hebb
  16. The Carlton pub in Llandudno, late 70's. the manager at the time was an old Twisted Wheel boy and he let us have a section on the jukebox to ourselves.
  17. Rather listen to this than crap like 'Tears of joy' or 'When we get there'
  18. Didn't know that he did upset Dave Godin, I remember Dave giving Kojak a good write up in his column in the mid 70's. Can't remember what year it was but Dave had left B&S by the late 70's.
  19. I'm not a big fan of Jnr Walker, Hip City is only one I like. Thought he was ok, but wouldn't rave about him.
  20. One of my favourites is Changes on the 'Live at Filmore West' album
  21. Not Northern or rare, but anything by King Curtis.
  22. I can remember that night quite well, quite a few of us from Llandudno went up on the train. Flogged my badge about 5 years ago on e bay.
  23. Just come across this now, fantastic and yes I was there too.
  24. I've still got the VHS tape set of it somewhere but nothing to play it on any more.
  25. Remember me - Laura Lee
