  4. Is That Long Enough For You- Seventies dancefloor perfection
  5. Didnt Adey appear on some daytime TV programme about decorating and how to store his records......I remember someone telling me this once.
  6. https://www.popsike.com/Heavy-Sound-100-Detroit-Sounds-Of-Friction-Im-Leaving/380136722981.html here we go.........a national marketplace.
  7. As I said £241 it went for.Didn't see any frantic bidding. Didn't go for 300, 500 600 or the over a thousand mark I have heard.Maybe the hype has overtaken the value as I would have expected at least £500 for a vg on a supposed over £1k record.........who is fooling who.??E bay is a national marketplace and this rec ord doesnt even get a poxy £300 bid even in good condition.
  8. 13/7/2009 364 Dollars (popsike) not mint condition. Wish I had bid on it.
  9. Wasn't S.O.S All We Need Is Time For Love Canadian as well. Had a few copies on the orange label.Great record but not heard it out.Timmy Thomas-Whats Bothering Me.(never hear that either). The Flirtations-Hold On To Me Babe on Polydor,Flora Wilson-Dancing On A Daydream,Boz Scaggs-You Make It So Hard To Say No,Lorelei-S.T.O.P.....
  10. Had one PM asking me how much?? I only know of one being sold a year and a half ago for £150.Im sure its a lot more than that now.Do you know anything about the record which area it was from?
  11. Still don't like the idea of an instant northern soul dj though. Just download a thousand tracks add talc and there you go...and play them at random. The deejay who is using original vinyl has put time in/thought/care and its something real and tangible in this modern throwaway society. He has made an effort and its not a middle class wine bar with some tosser who will be stroking his beard to something else next week.
  12. And the youth can probably dance......so will probably have an ear for dancefloor friendly material unlike a lot of deejays who play their set/to the record bar/chat matrix numbers and off.Theres a topic.Which deejays on the scene dance to another deejays set.Seen Dave Evison give it some. Never seen Searling dance. Not seen Levine dance. Not seen Kev Roberts either.Seen Adey Dance (think it was a xmas do)...come to think of it not many deejays do dance
  13. Whats the rest of the LP like..It can't be full of tunes as good as Hold On though.Just listened to the long version again. I agree you would have to have redubbed the vocals on some of the parts to do the longer version. Did Searling every have the long version?. He must have had access to it when he was working at RCA.Talking of longer versions where did the longer version of It Really Hurts Me Girl originate...got me thinking re alternate LP cuts.I'm sure High Voltage Country Road is longer on the LP.
  14. Whats the rest of the Judy Hughes LP like ....any tracklisting. I thought the Judy Freeman LP was a hoax and someone cleverley remixed the single. It does sound a lot better than the single cut.Wasnt it a later version of the Generations Hold On but funked up.
  15. Wasn't he on one of the Kent LP's Soul Class Of 66.Regularly see Vernons brother at London doos.Just posted some stuff on Jazz dancers on one of the other threads.Anybody know the names of the dancers on the Cleethorpes tv doc. Im sure one of them ended up being a doorman for a security company and I regularly used to see him at southport weekenders.Never seen a picture of Frank Booper in action.
  16. My George Lemons has just warped............fashhhhhhhhhhhhhionating gurrrrrrrrrllllll thats whattttttttttt uuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrr..Best pub singer northern tune in ages.
  17. Operator Operator-Gladys Knight on some yellow label with black writing almost cartoonish........early sounding though
  18. I'm Leaving You.Can I prise a copy from anyone....I know it's a hard one.PM me
  19. Another one Chapter 3 -I'll never be the same again Barry St John-My man (a uk decca thing) Frantic Escape-Escape From Cuba Seth Martin-Look At Me (Page1) Detours-A whole lot of lovin (CBS) Twiggy-Beautiful Dreamer (Ember dire.......) This has got my mind ticking
  20. No that was the Hawksworth Big Band...the track is called up to date and was composed by Johnny Hawksworth..Don't think it was ever played though I wouldn't be suprised if it was !!. Anybody remember a track called Mal...a euro type of thing.I remember a red label with a pirate on it for some reason.
  21. Just made me think...Joe 90 was a term of derision at my school for someone with NHS specks on. They were usually kept in place with a plaster in the corner......as in look at him he looks like Joe 90.If you were at Wigan and wore the specks and it came on .........pity you. What comes around though as all the young kids are wearing them and want to look like Joe 90.I'm a bit perplexed with the current kids look of looking like Frank Elson, the flat cap and beard. They are looking old before they are old!. The only things they will have to do when they are old is to have a smelly hallway, get up at 6 oclock and walk the yorkshire terrier for a paper and claim the pension.
  22. 7 dwarfs -stop girl ann sexton-youve been gone sandy waddy-everything is everything joey dee-how can i forget you sam and kitty-ive got something good
