Drake and the you should eat solids-Please Leave Me Sandy and the Pebbles-He's My Kind Of Fellow.............remember ringing Richard Domar up for this years ago.....youre ringing me at the wrong time. Tymes-What would i do Jeanette Williams-All of a sudden Edwin Starr-Youre My Mellow The Ellingtons-Destined To Become A Loser..............definately can't be tagged with the "just right for now" selling punchline.

An Ian Levine spin from around 2001 .He stuck it on a CD " Sounds Of The Rocket" and it got a few spins there. You might want to try him..... Just listened to it again on youtube where there is a very hissy copy.Still a great uptempo northern soul track and can't see why it should fail in a club and why stuff like this isn't pushed instead of that Dean Barlow rubbish.

Another one for the Northern Teddy Boys ...........had the boot and got rid.I've heard people are playing The Hermit Of Misty Mountain now.I still have that somewhere (an original) note to self (new ashtray).Wasn't Mason Williams Classical Gas like Esperanto? Carbon Copy https://www.youtube.c...h?v=yTLaSVBQAlI. Ben E King https://www.youtube.c...h?v=AhJpAfeNQgQ

I'm sure this is a harpsichord instrumental on a white label.....I'm sure it was booted as well yes the harpsichord skip is filling up fast. What was the instrumental on Sound Stage 7.........ah Suzys Serenade.Sounds like Rolf Harris having an eppy on his stylophone.

Was speaking to a rockabilly at the Kursaal on sat....he goes there's one northern soul record i really love....Emperor of My Babys Heart.....nooooooooooooo stop there. I've made the connection. It's all the doowop loving teds on the scene that like this..you know quiff, hawaiian shirt and baggy jeans mob...It's old fashioned maudlin popcorn rubbish.Had the boot with something else on the other side.Couldn't have it infecting my other records so got rid.......how about these Elvis alikes....Bellboys-I don't want to lose you now ohhhhoooohhh or Dont Let It Slip Away-Ral Donner on Starfire backed by Wait A Minute Now.....Otis Blackwell-Its All Over Me.Not good

Are those red/blue paper sleeves any good in deejay boxes...or do they keep getting ripped like the ordinary paper ones. Are there any alternatives to the white cardboard Im sure I saw some coloured cardboard ones somewhere.Got loads of them grubby seventies brown cardboard ones.....not nice.
-

The place is covered in CCTV.Were they stolen or lost though?.If you have proof they were stolen then report it as a crime online.British Transport Police.Get a list of London record shops and visit/send them the list......had a similar thing happen to me about 20 years ago.Deejaying in Kilburn....had a few too many.Taxi home. All records in the house but one box missing.Check everywhere and then try and track the taxi down.Look in the boot.Nothing.....6 months later girlfriend calls me at work.Ive just found your record box tucked into next doors front door alcove.Taxi driver put it there by mistake..I thought i was the drunk one. Also had a nasty episode with an ex who sold/got rid of a load of my records...I was also involved in recovering all of Cat Stevens original mastertapes from a Polish crime gang.....but thats another story.Hope you have some luck.

The 20 Most Valuable Records In The World
Wiggyflat replied to Kris Holmes's topic in Look At Your Box
Did a house clearance a few weeks ago and found a load of Canadian Beatles Lp's (8 or 9) along with that Unfinished Business Lp.Unfortunately just checked the Pepper and no executives.Found a load of reel to reel tapes as well fom Canadian radio which are marked Doors and Jefferson Airplane. I need a machine that plays these though.....on a soul note there was one solitary single by Eric Mercury.Anybody want the John Lennon Lp??? -
Just got these today By Yourself-Jay D Martin (Tower Demo) It Didn't Take Much-Percy Wiggins (RCA Demo) Youll Never Make The Grade-Sunlovers (Yellow Mutt & Jeff) In The Long Run-Curtis Blandon (Wand Demo) Lonely World-Sensations (Way Out issue) Youve Been Leading Me On-Steinways (Tollie issue ) And might get spun this Sat...

Had something similar on a copy of Determination.I thought the extra £11.53 I had to pay was a customs charge but it was sent by UPS and Royal Mail charged a handling fee of £8.00 and then £3.53 vat. Declared value was $32.00.Any big amounts US wise I contact the seller re declared values before I get stung on import duty etc but this looks like anything sent UPS Royal Mail are asking for a handling charge. They never deliver anyway....I'm always at their sorting office with cards!.

It is the slower version on minit.Just got rid of my Canterbury boot and reinvested the money into a yellow styrene copy from the US with LR 64811 scratched in the matrix and then C7-C506A-RE.. the other side has 64811-x..I've probably bought another boot!!

Some people are recreating their youth. Some people are not viewing it as nostalgia. Some people are introducing new genres. https://vimeo.com/16725074

The UK releases of Ray Baretto-Acid,Louiz Ramirez,Willie Bobo, Cal Tjader,Jimmy Castor-Magic Sax/Hey Leroy....amaze me.Were they hoping for a fluke hit? or aiming at the hispanic community in the UK?. -
I'm sure someone said there was a post Wigan one....sold at Maxims??
-
Think Jesse Johnson and Something New To Do had their day... Russ was telling me he plugged this for 2 weeks and dropped it when it never took off.Gerri Grainger-I Can Take It Like A Man
-
Common sense I think.First UK pressings on Action/Black Capitol/Orange CBS/Yellow Direction/B&C/MGM etc etc ....the unreleased stuff on Grapevine etc.If you haven't got the records and have to rely on Sevens reissues,Grapevine reissues,Destiny,Stardust etc then I think you should be employing someone who has made the time and effort to seek out and buy the originals. There's loads on here who would play for a nominal fee. It's a bit heartless going to a northern gig and seeing someone dj from a cd trip to the northern section in HMV and almost as bad using reissues and pressings
-
Another one on US Playboy with a great production.Al Wilson And this one....I know Running Out Of Fools was played at The Mecca from LP...ut what about her other tracks
-

"classic case of bootleg it first.Sell the bootleg before anyone else has found the original. Well the original was found some years later. Original has 4011-in the deadwax but more important a matt finish label with silver lettering.Counterfeited is a poor attempt, with a gloss finish label. The supposed original/counterfeit was selling for £15 at its height"....which im presuming was the summer of 76. The Pierre Hunt-I Have Got To Have Your Love must have been a big record back in the day as well as I'm sure I've a blue boot of that and I've seen gold copies. The Women in the background remind me of Generation Game or Mr &Mrs singers though!!
-
I agree most of this list are underplayed oldies and have all been played at different times............Betty Lloyd cost me a few quid.I think/hope this thread is about records that had massive northern potential but never made it big....not about good/OK ballads/midtempo/album tracks that would have never made it in a million years..........Sunny And The Sunliners-If I Could See You Now (but you were looking at Lonely Lover)
-
Got this recently and will be spinning it out.....must have been tipped for big things as it was booted.
-
Got the crying All Night on President ......it's got a funny wah wah sound on it.Watson is still around gigging.Check his website out... https://www.watsonbrowne.co.uk/

[/rs] Sorry mate far too slow .....what we call down here "Giffer Soul".Pleasant enough.Flip it back over for the dancer.Reminds me of all the people who play the wrong side of the Jack Montgomery record Do You Believe It.
