  1. I've a UK Shapiro Bernstein acetate of Ben E King... Was picked up by a UK Band The Dakotas who covered it badly..the b of the Acetate is an unknown female group.I'll stick with the Timi Yuro on the UK Lp.
  2. I used to get soul packs. Can anyone recognise this one...loads of brand new Mpac stuff Inc multiple copies of New Girl in the Neighbourhood.Ernie Marbrays Ain't Nobody's Business,Some UK Destiny stuff,Copies of That's Not Half Bad,loads of Ric Tic stuff,Wear Your Natural Baby on Blue Romark,Sugar Billy Sugar Pie,Andre Maurice Cream Of The Crop,....some dealer must have opened up the Mpac warehouse.
  3. Took me ages as well...blue Spark. It was on that train station comp.
  4. I've an Epitome of Sound red and flesh colourwith no braille.Bought way before the early 90s.
  5. Before the guides I had a lovely white ric tic demo of Al Kent..Acting lately then got an issue in a soul pack which I swiftly got rid of.I've also got a flesh coloured Epitome as well.I had the green boot but got rid as it wasn't as pleasing on the eye.I still can't find that raised number on the Epitome.
  6. What is happening now is what happened to the rockabilly scene in the seventies.Exaggerated seventies clothing can compare with the exaggerated teddy boy suits.Tv companies filming teds at run down holiday resorts.Teddy boy dad's dressing up their kids.I remember seeing teddy boy families and now we have northern soul families. And then there was the Edwardian who would have nothing to do the commercial tat.Bit like the people on here.Funny thing is the divs are calling people into new music,no fancy dress and into original records soul snobs!!It's like they are rewriting the rule book.Mr Ritson,Tim Brown,Godin,Frank Elson you were all wrong!
  7. If you don't like this you are a "soul snob".It's what's in the grooves that counts...look I just want a full dancefloor...Koko...Owls talc..bags..etc etc.
  8. Can we have the northern soul emblem and owls photoshopped into surreal settings like deserts, night skies, over tacky lambrettas with more union jacks on them than a jubilee day.Ktf Koko It'll Never...etc.
  9. Why does the footage of Whistle Test and Morecambe look great even 30 years later and the footage from.yesterday look as though Poundland and Billy Smarts Circus had done a Co production film on Northern.
  10. The take the old duffer down the pub scene appeared cooler...I swear I saw a woman who looked as though she was a character from a shortbread tin on there....it's like a northern Mud or Showaddywaddy.
  11. Will take this Mr blue...tried messaging but not getting through.
  12. I'll stick with Downton Abbey...you are not aware of the other non baggy non oldies scene the cool youngsters are involved in.Not to be confused with the English baggy youngsters.
  13. Stevie..don't think that you read my post properly...that is exactly what I was saying..there are sussed, smart young kids doing it in their own way without having to dress up in seventies bags..who are passionate about collecting and deejaying new discoveries in their own way.The saviours are not the kids dressing up.
  14. What happened to So#@ty.Wasn't the mystique of this music that you had to go and find it..and that it didn't come to you. There seems to be quite a few zealots who think that it will disintegrate if we don't encourage 12 year old in their dad's clothing from Jan 11 th 1976 to take it over. The real cool kids are forging their own unique take on it collecting rare original records and have their own smart clothing style.Meanwhile the kids that are lauded in the UK are copying a style from the seventies.Just like Mud and Showaddywaddy were a grotesque parody of the fifties. The best tv pieces were Morecambe...proper deejays John Vincent and Searling talking about the music...Bobby Herb You Want To Change Me.I Still Remember The Feeling...Whistle Test...Ady about finding records...Magic Touch etc. These people should be contacting Mick H,John Poole,Ted Massey and some of the proper young deejays Pogson,Maslin or even for a European slant Marc Forest or Matt Fox.
  15. I'm sure I have a Barbara Acklin Love Makes a Woman along with a Billy Butler Come On Over both pulled out of a San Francisco shop in 1999.
  16. Two scenes....more like 8 scenes. The X over young smart European scene into original records ie funky early seventies and a bit of rnb...progressive people, northern oldies events now populated by baggy trouser wearing late forties onwards people playing the same old records on originals, local events playing boots,ex mods and current mods with their r nb and mid tempo soul nights.Rare soul nights...expensive originals....I just want uptempo northern soul Inc underplayed and newies.
  17. Spares of Blues And Soul would be interested in copies of Black Music, Northern Noise/Posters or memorabilia (old tat) and my missing numbers.....it makes a change from deltics and brush fours or even Delta stamps. Spares 155-March 74 157-April 75 158-April 75 159-April/May 75 160-May 75 166-Aug 75 170-sept/oct 75 171-oct 75 172-oct/nov 75 175-dec 75 179-feb 76 183-april 75 201-july 76 203-july 76 205 aug 76 x2 206 aug 76x2 212 nov 76 214 nov/dec 76 216 dec/jan 77 227 jun 77 233 aug/sept 77 237 oct/nov 77 239 nov/dec 77 240-dec 77 241 dec/jan 77 x3 242 jan 78 243 jan 78 244 jan feb 78 245 feb 78 249 april 78 255 jul 78 x2 318 dec 1980 I want........................................... 1-52 54-57 59 62,63 66 69 74-79 87-96 98 120 124-128 130-131 143-146 148-153 161 177 and 178 183 185 228 236 238 255 265 267 273 275 276 284-294 296-305 307-315 319-321 323-326 328-330 332 334 339 Now Frank Elson should write a book....
  18. Wanted.VG Condition or above....,pm me with your price.
  19. Who remembers Dave Evisons soul mugs? There was a period from the early eighties up until 87 or 88 when the tat became minimal.I then remember Dave Evisons soul mugs being sold in the back of Echoes.I think this was the Tats return. This stuff goes with the photoshop owls and hearts. There's even a Facebook patch now.... 20 years time.Yep was online that day that The Snake was posted. It was a great night on the keyboard.Ktf...Koko...Wtf!
  20. Im after this awful record and posted up a want recently.Where are those plenty copies?
  21. I paid £320 for my Betty Lloyd about two years ago. I would have happily paid £200 for it but i just couldn't find it any cheaper and i do research before i buy hence me finding out about the Jesse Davis.
  22. Coincidentally Ive just uploaded a load of footage inc Brenda at Shea Stadium supporting The Beatles.....go to 40.00 she does I Can't Help Myself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_MHEmEt2hE&feature=youtu.be
  23. I mentioned this a few weeks on the biggest price drop thread.I contacted him about 6 months ago.He had some mint copies but sold them and the rest all have bubbles. He said he was selling them for his brother and there was a boxfull. Can't see why he should stop selling if he is getting $700 per copy.Money talks. https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?pagenum=1&searchtext=jesse+davis+hang+on&incldescr=&sortord=ddate&thumbs=&currsel=
