I paid 250 about 2 years ago. I think its around the 350 mark now......but who knows if one was auctioned. There are plenty of people throwing money around.
I can remember the odd baggy person around 99 to 2000.The mod look was prevalent and before that the pegged trouser. Before that there was the Kevin Webster tache, double denim and dm shoes look. The baggy looked as though it was consigned to history and it popped up again in its own Jurassic Park! can anyone go pre 90s?
Them bloody stamps on his sleeves still keep popping up all over the place in my collection.I still pull things out and think ah Domar. The Contenders and Walking By On Rim he must have had boxes of them.
Here's my cheapies.I think most would be under 25 quid.
Remarkables-Is The Feeling Still There
Cookie Scott-Your Love It Won Me Over
June Taylor-Jealous Heart
Audio Arts Strings-There's Nothing Else To Say...(a cheaper alternative as I'm sure the vocal is over 25 squid)
Dee Dee Sharp-Bye Bye Baby.....15 quid
Sandy Brockington-Is That You......the poor man's Rhonda Davis....
Bobby Patterson-Right On Jody...This is an on the spot 25 quidder I think
The Fantastic Four-I dont Wanna Live Without You......is this still a £4 sound?.
Curtis Liggins-The Living End....I think this is still just under 25 quid.
The Four Tempos-Got To Have You
Edwin Starr-Backstreet
Juanita Williams-Baby Boy
The Radiants-Im Glad Im The Loser
The Dells-When Im In Your Arms
The Niteliners-K Jee
Archie Bell-Showdown
Terry Lindsey-One Day Up
Gloria Taylor-Total Disaster
Marva Holiday-It's Written All over Your Face
Bionic Boogie-Risky Changes
The Fifth Amendment-I Got You Where I Want You
Van Mccoy-Soul Improvisations
Weller has taken music from everywhere. Backyard Construction are owed a few quid for My Ever Changing Moods and Nick Lowe should take him to the cleaners.
Jackie Follett and Dana Valery are in the sixties pop boxes.Haven't got Al McArthur.Taj Mahal is in the northern oldies box.He was amazing in The Rolling Stones RocknRoll Circus.Ritchie Havens is pleasant folk music though.I have a few of his lp's and Oxford Town on Big T.I even prefer The Brian Auger version of Indian Rope Man to his and he did the original.Has anyone ever played Simon& Garfunkel out??
Ritchie Havens!!.That is in my folk box along with Nick Drake,Fairport Convention,Fairfield Parlour,Tim Hardin,Pentangle.Have we ran out of soul records?
Some great revived oldies in there. Is anyone playing the If I Had My Way.I heard it at the posh venue in Dulwich and it blew me away.Mick H had it on a Virtue acetate im presuming it's from a tape.I heard James Pogson play the Sir Henry Ivy.An old Soul Sam spin from years ago.I bought one soon after.Im sure I heard Sagwarfare played in Germany. My girlfriend loves it.Who plays it over here?
Ah Mellorful it is nice to see you are admitting your crimes. You are now sentenced forthwith.
The Outsiders Lonely Man-Varied sentence. From lp..a live concert of Judy Street. From the boot.A free weekend at Skeggy.
Frank Popp-Breakaway.The most serious of the offences.White pop, modern recorded white pop and crap to boot.Sentencing will be in conjunction with The Skeggy weekended.A pair of red white and blue bowling shoes whilst wearing flashmob mans baggies.
The Free-Lesser of the crimes as Richard Can do no wrong Searling tried to push it and failed.
Bonnie St Clair-A mod scene record that should stay there. There are enough soul records out there.Sentence.Locked in a sol confinement with the reformed Wogans Ovation.
John E Paul-Should never have been played again and never after the cat food fiasco.Guilty.
Take him down.
I know...that's what I thought.I thought it was a 150 record.Anyway Casper is not guilty of boots but guilty of white pop. What are the sentencing guidelines.?
Records that are probably old hat to the upfront crowd but perfect for the big rooms and that i have heard are The Limitations-Lonely and Troubled,Curtis Liggins-What It Is and Tommy Rodgers Pass The Word. They only need bootlegging on a big scale for the push. That is the sad fact.Been playing the alt version of Tony Gallas's- In Love.
Would you take an offer of £74 which was the price in April 13 on the proviso that you have physical possession of the record and you own it and that it has a solid centre and it is real and not a repro.
Is this a real one???
Remember our conversation from 25th April 2013
Dear Kevin : I've just refunded your money as I received the 45's I was going to sell: Basically my mate told me he'd turned up 2 copies of this 45 at a boot sale for a few quid. I asked him was he sure it was the OG and he seemed positive it was : he agreed for me to sell them on and we share profits so I sold on for what I thought was a healthy profit of £74 a piece. I got the 2 copies today and there is no doubt these are repros as I have an original (I mistakenly thought these had not been booted) So to cut a long story short I've refunded your money and can only apologise prefusely for the inconvenience caused. Egg on my face after this and my mate also ashen faced!
