Yes i got quite a bit on this club.

I am doing a lot of research for a book on all of these clubs. all over the UK ....2 i have found in Chester in 66 were Quaintways Ballroom and The Wall City Jazz Club

I think I might have the record though...if you will pardon the pun...29 th Dec ordered 2 records ...still not here.

i ordered from the website 29th December ...still waiting for that order but my two later orders on discogs i have received (one order with two records that could not be found).

This sort of cover version has been going on for years along with the use of iconic Northern Soul imagery to try and shift units.. ..Who remembers Oliver Darley from around 2002 ...it's just the same.

Maybe a custom order by a UK shop a bit like all those pink Carstairs

I remember having Ronnie Walkers You're The one on a dark blue Philips which was a reissue....I wonder what demand was driving these.

Is there a list of what was reissued....Im sure i used to have the Festivals Makings Of A Lover with the same typeface

I remember it being massive at Britpop clubs like Happiness Stans in London mid 1990s along with Beggin by Timebox.I had never heard those records played at a Northern Soul venue before hearing it at those style of clubs. I have never seen it on any Wigan playlists either.....now Stronger Than Her Love/Little Darling yes.

I used to buy the lps for the Descargas...latin soul lps from the sixties seemed to be a mix trying to appeal to different audiences. You got heavy freeform descargas,ballads and boogaloos keeping everyone happy. The latin Soul 45s with english vocals were spanked on the Mod scene in the eighties (around 86/87 (Spanish Maiden/Do It To Me/Subway Joe/Right On/Soul Drummers/Mercy Mercy Baby/El Pito/Good Lovin Gilberto Sextet/Hard Hands/Love Beads/El Watusi/ At The Party/We Got Latin Soul/Cloud 9 all got spins. They were mostly very cheap. On the jazz scene it was all about lps and the Northern scene only really broke a few selected tracks .Ray Barretto got some exposure in Blues and Soul in the early seventies around the time of the Acid 45 and the lp. There was also a scene in some areas that played this stuff which led to the We Got Latin Soul comps. I remember a dj called Dave Hucker who was playing the latin soul stuff in the eighties.

I sent a record registered ...arrived cracked....claimed online ...they wanted proof.Tje photos I uploaded were not good enough I sent them the cracked record and the packaging which I luckily got back.Took months and months and I had to threaten them with the small claims court.It is a war of attrition.
