so when was the very last keele niter then? Just interested as i believe there was one in 2009 but i was in OZ at the time. I do remember there being a 2nd room in the 2000's that played more house music. was that the begining of the soulful house rooms??

Anyone tell me when the very last Keele All-Nighter was please? I have just dug out some badges from the anniversary's and i have nine. 1-10 with number 8 missing. I know it changed promoters and I went sometime in the 2000's but not sure when the last one was. Did they still do badges after it changed hands from the OKEH Soul Club? Was a fantastic niter and one that i will remember for a long time yet.

does anyone have a blog about northern, motown? One with a juke box or a download function or a good read about the soul scene? having a look round but not found much. I'm sure there are quite a few out there. Cheers Andy

first allnighter was Wigan Casino November 1977, I'd just turned 18:thumbup: Not a clue what the first record was, I was to mesmerized by the place:yes:

When wigan closed I/we thought that was that, all over bar the memories. How wrong I/we were. How long will it last? Been asking that since 1989 when I got back to going to soul do's. Long may it continue

And we are leaving tomorrow for a few weeks. Anything in Brisbane/sydney over the next 5 weeks?

went to lanzarote last year and had a ball. Treated it like a winter holiday in the sun during the day and a soul nite out most nights. the fancy dress wednesday was one of the best days/nites we've had for years. There are too many venues if you you want to take them all in in a month. Depends where you live and how far you want to travel and what music you want to listen/dance to. 30 mile circle of manchester would probably take a year to visit all soul venues, soul nites, niters, pub nites. Luckily they vary in styles, mainly oldies but with the likes of the greatstone, nags head, lowton, twisted wheel, soul or nothing, middleton, to name a few its all here if you want it. The country is awash with soul nites, niters, & now weekenders, being a soul freak has never been so good, or has it? Unfortunatley I can't make as many as I would like to.

The clubs I remember going to in the late 70's early 80's are the ones mentioned. Adri, Carousel, Bellvue, the Italian place (been trying to think of that place for years and years) the SNOBS club, was it on deansgate?, Ritz, blue rooms. As I got into the soul scene in the late 70's I couldn't get enough, thought it was just amazing that you could go out without any hassle from anyone and the music was, well, music to me ears. Yep, great allniter. Enjoyed everything about the place and at the time a head of its self and was the best. Went to hyde a few times but as mark says didnt really take off. Was it really 17 years ago!!!!!!!!!! Jesus, don't time fly when you have fun

benn on TV (bbc4 mainly early hours) about half a dozen times over the last 18months or so. saw this on video (remember them) a few years back after it had been done. A cracking short film that is really tongue in cheel stuff. The highlight for me is the whizzed up guy
