  2. Well mine has as much run out as music. dean
  3. Good morning Chaps, Having prompted an interesting chat with my Gwen Owens inquiry how about this one? cheers dean
  4. Footnote: Does everyone know that the UK issue is different from the US? Back in the 80's the Japanese collectors were mad for UK copies. dean
  5. O'jays 'i love music'
  6. As I said before I'm only reporting..obviously someone got one hell of a bargain. dean
  7. Just opened the preview of this sale. Record dated as from 1966,Price was actually £48.35 , so presumably in dollars or euros, and the seller pointedly states it as vinyl not styrene! dean
  8. I don't doubt you for a moment. The Nazi Librarians on discog aren't always as clever as they think they are.. I'm not computer literate enough to do a link but I'm sure there are techno-gods on site who could. dean
  9. Well If you actually look at discog: 2011 bootleg goes for less than £10 and there are a few for sale A listing for the original [i don't know if that is true] has gone for no more than £50 in vg+ condition according to the sales history. None for sale at present! The listing for the 70's boot last sold Dec. 2014 for £90. 4 on offer at present from £40 to £70 I offer no analysis merely report. dean
  10. That explains why the boot goes for more than a real one on discog....the strange world of little round black things! dean
  11. very good stuff! where and when is this night? dean
  12. Thanks - mine is a boot, which I suspected, as it only cost £2 in the mid eighties. cheers dean
  13. Good morning Chaps, How do I tell if my 'say your wanted' is real or not.Not planning on selling it any time soon but would love to know the truth from the Soul Source Hive Mind! dean
  14. I have one for sale @ £40..mark at the start affects first half second then plays fine. dean
  15. I just sold one for that..rarest 45 on buddah?
  16. of course it does have a ;northern; style instrumental hidden away on it.
  17. i used to play it off the lp every saturday night for a while at....the hacianda dean love a 45
  18. G'wan tell 'em Russ! Death to the typists and personel bootleggers! dean
  19. Of course its elitist to be a soul fan, divies listen to pop music...and sadly turn up to soul events. dean ps, I would like to say that i went to the north lancs. soul weekender on the saturday night and the locals totally intergrated with us types: rarely the case I suspect and it and it impressed me a bit.
  20. I'm not really qualified [as I think I have said before I'm a fellow traveller rather than a party member] but I've always liked the term 'rare soul' as it covers all the variations and vageries of our strange universe. dean
  21. The 'glamour' of rare soul, and indeed other forms of black dance music, is that the person who doesn't invest time, effort, instinct, and I'm afraid these days more than ever, hard cash, doesn't get to display it. Of course then they have to have to have some presentation skills as well: which isn't always the case. Why would anybody travel miles on a dark rainy night, in a dodgy rented vehicle that smells of fish, to a tawdry venue, to hear music on a disapointing sound system, if Norris from next door can own the bloody music by typing? dean
  22. THE SOUL LIFTERS 'HOT, FUNKY AND SWEATY' [HOUSE OF FOX] NM £1200 OCEANLINERS 'CUTTING ROOM [HOT PANTS]' [bLUE CANDLE] VG+ £1000 THE BLENDERS LTD. 'WHEN YA GIT THROUGH WIT IT PUT IT BACK' [GRAYSLAK] NM £250 PURE PLEASURE BY MY SIDE' [QC] M £250 BIG ELLA 'IT TAKES A LOT OF LOVING' [LO LO] M £100 PM/PAYPAL GIFT PLEASE DEAN
  23. When I first went to rare soull all-nighters in the early 80's precision group clapping at certain point in certain records still happened. Used to send a shiver down the spine. When was the last time anyone on the site witnessed such a great example of subculteral behaviour?
  24. Record shops who are VAT registered will avoid the discog fee increase but simple souls selling a few bits will have to take what is in reality a fee increase by stealth. PS. as a person whos put on many 'not known to the data base' and incurred the wrath of the Discog Nazi Librarians [Contributor Improvement Program ban three times but I'm out now] it can be tricky. My advice is to keep it simple so they can't find fault. dean
