Steve has suffered so much tradgedy in his life i cannot believe its happened once again im just glad they shared a lot of love and happiness in there short time together. "Brothers in Arms" In Memory of Nigel Peter Shaw AKA " SHAWY" Born 26 September 1958 Died 15 June 2006 age 47 I first met Nige Shaw on a Saturday Afternoon in 1974 at a local Council Run Roller Skating Rink that has now long gone, in fact its now the car park in Stafford for Simsbury's. I used to DJ there occasionally but it was just an excuse really to play me ever-growing collection of Rare Soul Records. I ALWAYS remember this cheeky young git with sparkly ice blue eyes and a mop of straggly black hair coming up and saying, " Bet ya aint got Sam & Kitty mate" That was the start of a 30 odd year friendship that grew and grew till it became more than just friends Nige Shaw became the brother I never had. Like some people on the scene we never had any breaks away from it, its what we did, it really was our way of life. We have travelled the length and breadth of the UK and more in our travels on the scene mostly together and occasionally apart BUT always in touch if separate. Every body who knew Nige Shaw will have their own stories to remember him by (ive got hundreds) so I wont bore you with mine they are now stored in a treasured memory file in my heart. Shawy will ALWAYS want to be rememored at your FRIEND, someone you liked and made you laugh and my god I bet that's exactly how you rememger him. From the early days Nige moved on and became is avid collector of Rare Soul and eventually a well-respected DJ on the Scene. In recent years he gave up wearing the usual clothing attire on the scene and turned to wearing extremely LOUD Hawaiian Type Shirts Baggy Shorts and Trainers ALL Year long and eventually even set a trend on the scene!! He DJ d at the smallest village hall Soul Nites to ALL the Major All Niters and Weekenders he loved them all. His proudest moment of ALL came this year when Ady asked him to DJ at the 100 Club in Oxford Street, London this had been a Life Long Ambition to Nige and one that was for filled. Nigel Shaw lived life to the full , he loved making OTHERS happy, I loved him as a BROTHER and I ALWAYS WILL. Already I MISS YOU SO MUCH BRO! Never forget ya Seeya when i Git There! Nige Brown

HI All 12.15 pm Thurs A very brief up date Niges liver is now failing ! The family have now been told his survival rate is now only 5%!! I do hope he can keep fighting but its not looking good at all now! Nige B

Hi All Quick up date! Nige was in surgery from 6pm last night till 4 am this morning At 8 pm last nite the family were gathered by the Drs as it wasnt going to well !! But what evere the problems were they got round them and finisished the operation Aparently there is still a sloght bleed but the Docs arent to cocerned with that and are treating it with clotting agents Nige is stable and responding well at this stage. As you can imagine his close family have been to hell and back in the last few hours Thats about it if i here ant more il post later Once acain thanks for caring Nige B

Hi All Nige had his assessment earlier this afternoon and it was discovered that the reaon the valve was leaking was because it was competely ripped open so no wonder the the poor guy was in so much distress. As i write this (7-20 pm) Nige has been in theatre for about an hour and has at least another 5 hours to go !! Thats how long they estimate to do the repair to the torn valve. His sister will inform me when Nige is in recovery ive told her no matter what time of nite i wanna know. Thats about it!! Nige is now in the lap of the gods yet again!! The bugger has found the strengh to walk around woth a ripped aortic valve, lungs full of fluid, clotting blood, a 200mph heart rate, a flight in the AIR AMBULANCE etc etc I recon God owers it to Shawy for another chance at this wonderfull life! [I'm sure Nige B will let us know if he has any news if he was able to visit Nige tonight Hi again Yes! was there with my "bro" tonight i sat with him for about 30 mins , i told him ALL his dear friends from the scene are asking about him and wanting to see him back flashing those ice blue eyes and making us all laugh as he ALWAYS does I felt sorry in my heart Niges ENTIRE close family where all there for him, just sitting waiting fpr a decision on what the hospital is gonna do next As Mandy has said they are flying Nige down to Bristol and will operate within 24 hours to hopefuly put the damage right. So once again the " man with the loud shirts" is in the lap of the gods As i said before i just hope he finds enough strength from within to fight this next challenge and to quote his Sister Linda " if LOVE , KISSES & BEST WISHES where ALL that is needed Our Kid will piss thiss one" and my god she is SO right Niges Mum told me to THANK ALL of YOU who are taking time through this thread to pass on your messages and kind thoughts for HER SON she cant believe he is SO well thougtf. Hi All Just had calls from Nige's Sister & Lindsay to say...... Mr Shaw has had his operation and is now in recovery It appears all went well with the operation there may be a slight problem with his kidneys but they are sorting that out right now! Like you all, i wish my Bro the QUICKEST of revoreries and hope to see him soon best Nige B

Hi All Latest Update on the man with the LOUD SHIRTS Spoke to Nige Shaw this afternoon!! Monday 15 May By now he will have been Tranfered tp BRISTOL He has his Triple By Pass tomorrow!! Hi Spoke to Mr Shaw this afternoon! He will have his by-pass within the next FORTNIGHT for DEFFO! Plus hes not being released from hospital until after the operation . He is overwelmed by all the responce to his illness and cant thank all you guys who have psted and or visted enough There wa a collection for him at the STEAM all niter on SUN nite amd when i have counted it all up i will post how much was raised for the young scallywag!! If your down that way and know Nige please go and see him as he is SO pissed off with being trapped in the hospital Nige B
