I think I first met Ian Gee at Annersley Miners Welfare Soul Night what now seems like a life time ago!! In those days Ian was just a punter ,,, i used to see him arrive in his Crombie ,, Leather Coat or his Denim Jacket always very smart ,, dapper ,,, even sometimes a Tootal Kravat ALWAYS showing More that a Little Class,, A really cool dancer to boot!!! I remember he used to look up at me on the stage and i could see in his eyes he was gagging to behind the decks ,,, i just could tell... Slowly but surely Ian amassed a huge collection of Fabulous Northern Soul Records ,,, mainly on Pristine White Demos ,,, with Ian it HAD to be the WHITE DEMO..!! Ian started DJing!!! Him and his mucker Carl Piper started running do s and before long Ian Gee The NSoul DJ was the guy ,,, everyone wanted at their dos around the East Mids and beyond,,,, They DJ all over the place together and usually blew the Roof Of with their Up Tempo DJ Style "" Eventually being a Resident DJ with Phil Armstrong Soul Over Easy Events!! Over the years Ian and became good friends,,, although in later years we didnt see each other a lot ,,,, but when we did lots of hugs and long chats about the Scene and what records we had bought or sold,,,, Tonight i learned that Ian has Passed away after fighting illness for a long time,,, To say im gutted is a Total Understatement!! Ian was always lovely to me ,,, we had a HUGE Mutual Respect for each other,,,, I wish all his close family my Sincere Condolences and Respects!! I will Miss You Greatly Ian Gee and along with a few I Will NEVER Forget You!! RIP ,,, Sleep Well Now Bro,,,, Soulful Love,,,,,, Nige B x
