  1. It is summer again and time for some down tempo soul. Last week at Stockholm Soul Weekender I bumped into Steve Scotney who asked med why I didn't post that much lately. So here's for you Steve! But I'll also add that Ambitious outsider and Akro1 provided a good portion of inspiration for this one. Starting the mix off with a fantastic unissued slow version of LTG Exchange's You'll never learn. Some other rare tunes from Ron Harrington, the Attractions and the Perfections. Weekender finds from the sales box, a wonderful original of Willie Brown's Love that stranger - what a tune! And a track that took me years to source a copy Ikhlas - Tell me if it's not so. Feel free to leave a comment if you like the music - it is always appreciated. And don't be a stranger to ask if there's a name of a track you'd like to know....

  2. It’s been a few years since my last mix and the records have been piling up in the meantime. This one contains many of the 45s I’ve been DJing with lately. Worth mentioning is the unreleased uptempo dancefloor destroyer from LTG (LTG exhange), a hard to find version of the Evangelists ”walk with me”, Bobby and the Innkeepers ”World of fantasy” and uptempo northern soul from Robert Epps. I hope you will enjoy this. Please let me know what you think…
  3. New show out from me. Been a while since last time. This features some of my new purchases during 2019 and gives you an idea what to expect from my spot at the Amsterdam Rare Soul Weekender 12th - 13th of December. This show features among others an unreleased funky tune with great horn arrangement from Roger Hatcher taken from an acetate. Also one of my favourite dance tunes from Clark Bridges and of course the title track from Ready Willing and Able. Bonus points to whoever figures out who does the cover of Smokey Robinsons If you can want... I hope you enjoy the mix!
  4. Rare modern soul arranged by Willie Tee. Sherry Richard - Don’t get caught - Sherry Richard label ex+ (just a few light marks nap) no picture sleeve, plays perfect. £400 plus shipping from Sweden. Paypal only. PM to reserve. Thanks!

  10. I finally took the time to set a new mix together just in time for the best part of summer. Focus is midtempo to uptempo tunes. A lot of rare ones in this mix. It starts off with an unreleased tune from Leon Ware taken from an original acetate, an obscure Detroit soul pearl from Lee Moore, excellent vocal performance from Big Jay, another outing from the same Harmonics that brought us "Be your man" and some LP tracks. I also added two alternative mixes taken from an acetate of the classic Watson and the Sherlocks double sider on Soulville with references to Tru Glo Town on the acetate... Comments on the musical content of this mix are welcome! Tracklist is featured below. https://www.mixcloud.com/samuelhugosson/my-heart-is-true-northern-soul-crossover-soul-and-funk/ 1Time won't get you out of my mind by Leon Ware 2My heart is true by Peter and the Wolfs 3The heart of a woman pt 1 by Lee Moore 4Let me say it again by Demands 5Here I stand by Ghetto Children 6Standing on the corners - unreleased mix by Watson and the Sherlocks 7Let's get together and love by Rance Allen Singers 8Do you remember Malcolm by Bongi and Nelson 9Theme from Greene sisters by Greene Sisters 10Time after time by Bill Brandon and the Soul Injections 11Which way by Harmonics 12Funky walk - unreleased mix by Watson and the Sherlocks 13Who knows better than me by Big Jay 14Love built on a strong foundation by Soul Blenders

  12. Hi all! Last mix from me this year. There's a focus on uptempo tunes in this mix. A few funk bangers from Wayne Carter and the Debonaires. We have an unissued unnamed acetate which I believe is William Powell's demo take of "You Can't Have Your Cake" later issued on Melatone by Lela Martin. A real classy gospel funk gem from the Masonic Allstars and a true northern allnighter sound from Sir Thompson. A little bit of everything as usual: the rare, the cheap and the plain good ones. All from original 45s. Playlist as follows: Tracklist 1. Lawdy Rolla - Guerillas 2. Real Love - Sir Thompson 3. You can't have your cake - William Powell 4. I gotta hear it from you - Ronnie North 5. Peter in or out - Wayne Carter 6. Stop let's be united - Debonaires 7. Won't you let me know - Del-Cords 8. How much longer - Billy Young 9. Freedom road - The Pharaoes 10. Stand up - Masonic Allstars 11. Take me as I am - The Luscious Three 12. Time to love - Candy Coated People 13. Love music - Sergio Mendes 14. Let me down easy - Liquid Smoke 15. Fever -Carlo
