  6. Thanks Ian. Whats the story with Irma & the Facinators version, did it get a legit release, its not mentioned on the Harthon discography unless it is one of the missing numbers ?....any info much appreciated. I did know this when it was played back at the Dome, but my shot away brain has ditched the info ... Russ
  7. That intro caused a stampede to the dance floor...great tune.....
  8. Firstly thank you to Eddie Hubbard for reminding me of this via FB - cheers mate. Butch played it from an unissued acetate, but demo copies were pressed on Grapevine, but were withdrawn. Some questions: Was the Grapevine demo the same mix as the unissued acetate ?. Did Butch pitch this up + ?. How many Grapevine demos were pressed ?. Were they all sold or did some get trashed ? Brilliant tune BTW Best Russ
  9. Just listened to the clip, havnt listened to it for a fair while & yes its brilliant - strangely it encompasses all the things that a classic traditional style stomper should have & typifies a certain sound from back in the day, yet has never ever reached the popularity that it should have, I wonder why ?. Best Russ
  10. I have always loved this record & for me it epitomises Northern Soul. I would love to own a copy. Best Russ
  11. There are a few high points, but generally speaking, too much pop n country for me, plus there are things Ian says, for example regarding Billy Hambric, 'forgotten Mecca stomper', its continued to have been played since then off n on & had a big reativation a few years back, deffo not forgotten & never was, also classing the Moonglows as Crossover, nice ballad, Crossover, no. Sounds like nit picking, but Ians knowledge of the current scene is sadly lacking & whilst I do enjoy his radio technique, these occasional gaffs & the pop tunes spoil it a little for me over all. Having said that I admire Ian for doing these Podcasts & wearing his heart on his sleeve, I would much rather have them to listen to, than not.....now back to Mrfishes real deal latest Podcast, that really is the cutting edge of Rare Soul..... Best Russ
  12. Its just a bad movie - subject matter is irelevant, just very, very poor all round to be honest. Best Russ

  18. I get sick to death of the constant negativity on here, every time you make a comment or express an opinion theres always some smart ass there to shoot you down in sh*t.... Ok, Im a tw*t who doesnt know what he's on about & bow to your lots superior wisdom & judgement...f&ckin happy now.....its getting really tedious TBH....no wonder some folk dont bother any more.... Best Russ
  19. Its just a brilliant reactivation, & refreshing to hear a proper under played/forgotten oldie, instead of the thrashed to death same old same old. Best Russ
  20. I hear you Pete & whilst the records you have quoted are fantastic in thier own right, you can hear em any where at any time, whilst I may have been over exuberent with my comment, I'd hope that you would get my drift kinda.... Its a good Northern Soul record that I have never tired of, mainly cos it isnt thrashed to death. Russ

  24. Would just like to add, that I would be prepared to discuss payment terms on this for any serious person who would struggle to make a 'one off' payment. Either a reasonable deposit (non refundable) to hold disc for a few weeks before final payment, or a few installments over several weeks. I would be very accomodating for the right offer, as I know things are a bit tight these days - so fire away & make me an offer I cant refuse, Im sure we can come to terms with the payment. Best Russ
  25. Hi all, thank you for all the interest on this 45 & just to let everyone know I will end the 'offers' @ 2000 GMT tonite. All people who have sent offers have been notified of finish time via PM or email. Get em in, ya gotta be innit it to win it. Tis a beautiful soulful dancer & its a wrench, but hey, someone else gets the chance to love it now.... Highest offer will be notified & advised of payment details by close of play tonite. Thank you Russ
