Thats it....in a nutshell.....these days unless its on the doorstep & conveniently wrapped up in a nice easy to digest all you can eat package, it seems many dont want to know ....
Im 51 now, never really had a break from the scene, altho cos off my career I have had small enforced abscences of a few months, cos I work abroad a lot.....but even now, every time I go to a Nighter Im excited beyond beleif, the journey is still a bloody pain, as my nearest Nighter is usually a minimum of 2 hours away, but the journey there & the messy journey home is sometimes what makes the weekends shenanigans even better....I could write a book about the journeys I have made & the mad bad happenings along the way, even to this day.....not so long back, I finished work at 3pm on a Friday, drove to London, caught a plane, hired a car t'other end, drove thru the mountains in the pitch black, arrived at the venue, stopped up for 2 nights dancing, DJ'd on the Sunday & jumped straight in the hire car to do the journey back, back at work 8am Monday morning....did the journey alone too !!!.....'kin brilliant .......in a few weeks Im home for 10 days, have a family commitment on the Saturday night, so no friggin Nighter ....the solution, dont drink Saturday, get up early Sunday & drive to the other end of the country for an Alldayer with a couple of DJ's I've been looking forward to hearing for my fix....probably do the journey alone again, but hey you do what you have to do to hear the tunes & to respect the DJ's n Promoters who still give a toss........
Keepin it real since 1977......
