  1. Thats it....in a nutshell.....these days unless its on the doorstep & conveniently wrapped up in a nice easy to digest all you can eat package, it seems many dont want to know .... Im 51 now, never really had a break from the scene, altho cos off my career I have had small enforced abscences of a few months, cos I work abroad a lot.....but even now, every time I go to a Nighter Im excited beyond beleif, the journey is still a bloody pain, as my nearest Nighter is usually a minimum of 2 hours away, but the journey there & the messy journey home is sometimes what makes the weekends shenanigans even better....I could write a book about the journeys I have made & the mad bad happenings along the way, even to this day.....not so long back, I finished work at 3pm on a Friday, drove to London, caught a plane, hired a car t'other end, drove thru the mountains in the pitch black, arrived at the venue, stopped up for 2 nights dancing, DJ'd on the Sunday & jumped straight in the hire car to do the journey back, back at work 8am Monday morning....did the journey alone too !!!.....'kin brilliant .......in a few weeks Im home for 10 days, have a family commitment on the Saturday night, so no friggin Nighter ....the solution, dont drink Saturday, get up early Sunday & drive to the other end of the country for an Alldayer with a couple of DJ's I've been looking forward to hearing for my fix....probably do the journey alone again, but hey you do what you have to do to hear the tunes & to respect the DJ's n Promoters who still give a toss........ Keepin it real since 1977...... Russ

  7. I have edited my post as with hindsight the 'C' word was a bit harsh lol.
  8. Mmmmm such a shame that you have decided to take this route Rod, would have thought you would be better off attacking the bootlegger ?. Russ
  9. I wasnt calling you that Rod & you know exactly what I mean & I just commented on the post Mick made, so maybe you should ask him & not me . Wouldnt have thought you would be advocating bootlegging records tho, unless I have misunderstood you. Best Russ
  10. Im just waiting for some tw*t to come on this thread with a boot v ovo perspective, to try to justify it.... Russ
  11. Long before the 'price guides', a DJ/Record dealer friend would put a huge priced 'wants' list out all over the US, I mean this was a book !!!. The UK 'big' record dealers of the time really f^ckin did one, I mean really did one - what had happened was, said person had pretty much blown open the NS pricing mystery of which discs were collectable, not just the obvious, many of the old guard of dealers went ape sh*t, as they had been 'stealing' these records for years, it had now been spoiled for them, however my friend got some absolutely amazing records over a period of years......the price guides are the revenge, turning it all on its head again.... Russ
  12. Wish I had & still would, depending on the money....'kin brilliant record, there are records that people fall over themselves to buy at ridiculous prices, comparitively speaking, that we know exist in multiple hundreds if not thousands of copies, we know this, not because of speculation, but because dealers in the UK had them in those amounts on the shelves !!!....we know TB had hundreds of copies of Bari Track, we know JA had hundreds of copies of the Ringleaders, amomgst other things, we know the story with regards to FB....a handful of copies of a genuinely rare record turns up & theres decsention in the ranks.... Could be a handful, could be more, could be a repress....ya do the research, you pays ya money n ya takes ya chance.... Now, anyone twitching enough to sell yet.....at the new revised price of...... Russ
