????????????????????????????????????.

Yeah, brilliant .
-
Totally agree . Russ

I beleive its the demo done by the writer, sounds unfinished as you would expect & IMVHO compared with the released KOS finished take, this is poor, you would have trouble recognising it if it wasnt for the fact that we know what it is. Russ
-
I think that the sounds played today & lets say post Wigan onwards are just as good as any played 'back in the day'. I do think that some times some of these sounds have suffered slightly from not being broken by 'Richard Searling at Wigan tho'. People heard these toons in venues packed with hundreds if not thousands of people & the atmosphere was electric, most were off thier tits & couldnt keep still anyway, a record was ;make or break' within a few plays. Dont forget that as well as the stone cold classics there were some real turkey;s played too. Records like the Mello Souls would have been massive at Wigan or any were else for that matter, some times the venue helps tho. Russ

Mr Abott & myself have discussed this record quite a few times over the past couple of years & we both love it as a NS record, think Dave has been playing it back home so hopefully people are getting behind it.......the woo-hoos are very reminiscent of the Velvets & these make the record for me, a dancers delight & get those hands in the air for the woo-hoo's toooooooooooo. Russ

Sheepherders were predominantly white & had a pretty transient line up, but on this particular disc, the lead is a black guy named Bubba Bailey & he belts it out, massive, massive, massive.hard tune too, paid $$$ for mine even in the US. Russ
-
Jackie Beavers is awesome & I want one......so any one oblige pse. Russ

A complete stab in the dark here & at risk of looking like a right prat.................but there was an advert on the TV a while back that if memory serves me right used the Sam Fletcher albeit re-recorded or something, certainly messed about with, wondered if this 'edit' was a bi - product Marco S would know maybe ????. Russ

I spose I dont really count being in the US right now & I'm not DJing a massive amount, but for what its worth these are doing the biz in my bedroom & at the few gigs that I get over here: Sheepherders - If Ever You Need Me - Sounds International The Clovers - Try My Loving On You - Josie The Lavells - Share Him - CTB The Hytones - Bigger & Better - Abet (Known by everyone, but never really acheived the status that it deserves) and on a more mid to down tempo note, a great ender........ NA Allen - Every Time It Rains - Ronn (Thanks Jas) Russ
-
This is the case I use & its absolutely solid, you could drive a truck over it, can be a bit heavey at times, but nowt is gonna get damaged in this, so I feel its well worth it. Russ

Just a few more days before I ebay the lot. Russ
-
Since being in the US I have accumalated stuff that is spare. I'm not a record dealer these are just some things I have to clear out & would prefer to let SS's have a crack before I ebay them. I have tried to grade & price as fairly as possible but if there are any contentious prices just let me know & I will review the price accordingly as I feel neccessary. Thanks for looking. 6Ts & 7Ts Soul 45's Don Gardner - My Baby Likes to Boogaloo - Tru Glo Town VG+ £40 Pamoja - Oooh Baby - Keiper M- £60 (Modern Soul/Funk) The Impressions - I'll Alway's Be Here - Curtom M- £15 (Fantastic anthemic 70's Dancer) Joe Simon - I Got a Whole Lotta Lovin' - SS7 VG++ £15 Liz Damon's Orient Express - You're Falling in Love - White Whale VG++ £12 (Same as Betty Everett LP) Candi Staton - Too Hurt To Cry - Fame VG++ £15 (Awesome) Jean Wells - With My Love & What You've Got - Calla VG+ £15 Aretha Franklin - Daydreaming - Atlantic £20 M- £20 Jackie Wilson & Laverne Baker - Think Twice - Brunswick VG++ £35 Jackie Wilson - Just Be Sincere - Brunswick M- £20 Jackie Wilson - This Love Is Real - Brunswick VG+ £15 The Masqueraders - I'm Just an Average Guy - AGP VG+ £20 (Sticker/Slt H20 Dmg)(Class Tune) Jeanie Reynolds - Unwanted Company - Casablanca VG++ £20 Mandrill - Too Late - Mud Island VG++ £10 (Reissue) Nino Tempo - Sister James - A&M WD M- £20 Esther Phillips - I've Never Found a Man - Kudu M- £15 (Geat 70's Dancer) Jeff Perry - Love Dont Come No Stronger - Arista Demo VG++ £30 GQ - Make My Dreams A Reality - Arista VG++ £12 Tutti Hill - He's A Lover - Arock VG+ £20 (Reverse Label Missing/ X on Label) James Brown - People Wake Up & Live - Polydor VG++ £30 (Bill) The Falcons - Standing On Guard/I cant Help It - Big Wheel VG+ £15 (Initials on Label/Slt Label Damage were sticker removed) Gene Chandler - Let Me Make Love To You - Chi - Sound VG++ £15 Major Lance - Your Everything I Need - Osiris VG++ £15 (Far better than the rarer number on label IMO) Jesse James - I Know I'll Never Find Another one - Zay VG+ £12 (Brilliant) Barbara Stant - Unsatisfied Woman - Shiptown VG++ £15 (Great Ballad) Dorothy Berry - I Say Your Driving Me Crazy - Little Star VG++ £50 (Great RNB Pounder) Virgil Henry - I'll Be True - Colossus VG++ £40 (X & date on label)(Great) Al Greene - Dont Leave Me - Hotline VG++ £15 Jerry Butler - One Night Affair - Mercury VG++ £15 Soul Brothers Inc - I Say Forever My Love - CUR WD M- (Name & X both sides of label) £40 Gayle Adams - Baby I Need Your Loving - Prelude WD M- £25 Aristocrats - Ip Slippin Dippin - WB WD M- £15 Little Milton - So Blue (Without You) Checker) VG++ £12 (Great) TSU Tornadoes - What Good Am I - Atlantic M- £25 (DH) (Also VG+ copy @ £15 Initials on Label) Lonnette Mckee - Do To Me - Sussex VG++ £15 (Good 7O's reminiscent of Ordinary Joe) Bobby Bland - Yum Yum Tree - Duke VG+ £15 TKO's - The Far Man - Ten Star M- £12 (Good Inst) 12" Records Lenny Williams - Gotta Lotta Luv - Krush VG++ £25 Island Inspirational All- Stars - Dont Give Up - Island M- £15 (2 Copies)(Great Modern Soul) LP's Roy Hamilton - The Impossible Dream - RCA Cover VG (No serious probs, ring wear, & a bit worn) Vinyl VG++ £35. When I made my move to the US, all of my belongings came over by sea freight. I seem to remember that I had to make a list of the contents of each box/container & then this box was put into a proper container for shipping. I was that paranoid that someone would have me vinyl away whilst in transit, that I wouldnt say what was in those boxes, I labelled them as something else, that no casual would be thief would have any intetest in whilst ensuring that the contents were still 'fragile'. I also seem to remember that I could only insure what was shipped as a 'lump' & not as individual items as to insure them seperately was cost prohibitive. Whilst most of my records went into storeage, those I shipped, after weeks of worry arrived safe & sound. BTW aswell as everything else my records were in proper flight cases. Might be expensive, but worth there weight in gold with regards to keeping the vinyl safe in transit. Hope this helps. Russ PS I also remember something about custom forms.........but shouldn't have a problem with vinyl.

Has anyone got any info on how the movie production is going or even if it is going ahead ???. Has any one been approached with regard to advice etc, etc, etc. What about a release date. Also if anyone knows & I appreciate that this may be a little premature, but will the movie get a US release ????. Any info welcome. Best Russ
