  1. I have absolutely no idea what you are on about, are you on the wrong forum ? & as for the Youtube clip I lasted 1.47 & that was painful in the extreme....virtually nothing you have said has any relevance to the NS Scene & the Youtube clip has me totally flumuxed as to how in any way shape or form that can be put into context with regards to the playing of records at NS dances....errrmmmm a troll methinks...but if not, get real no relevance to NS what so ever....
  2. Thats not the track for me...
  3. Beres Hammond - 'Lets Make a Song' - Brotherhood - LP. Pse PM with price & condition. Will paypal or do Bank Transfer immediatly for the right copy. Many thanks Russ
  4. Thanks for the replies so far - I'm actually after the LP for a different track than most, which I'm sure didnt receive a release on 45...but thought I would check... But I do need the LP if anyone has one for sale, any reasonable price paid for a decent condition copy - please PM me. BTW I know I could post in 'wants' but thought I might get a better response here. Best Russ
  5. Hi, I was hoping that the Reggae experts might be able to help me out with regard to information on the Beres Hammond - 'Lets Make a Song' - Brotherhood - LP. I am looking for a copy of the album & wondered if this was the original releaase ?, as I kinow that the 'Soul Reggae' LP for example got something like 7 releases ?. I am also interested in any 45 releases taken from this LP if anyone knows ?. Finally, if anyone has an original release of the LP for sale, please PM me with price & condition, I would prefer the best condition possible, but would be happy with any reasonably playable condition copy. Many thanks in advance for your help Best Russ
  6. I would love to spend the time, to come up with some witty, intelligent retort to this complete & utter BS, this is the reason you'll never see me & many, many other die hards in 95% of the so called current NS venues across the UK...... shocking !, but I cant be arsed, needless to say this is the kind of attitude & ignorance that prevails when you get lowest common denominator venues & music....I'm very nearly at the end of my rope TBH, but I refuse to let the c*nts win & take over the scene I love & cherish, I f*ckin swear I'll be there when these divs have upped n f*cked off again...if there are any younger souls reading this thread, avoid these people & venues like the plague, they are poison, but they dont have the staying power, & the cream eventually rises to the top...WTF has this so called scene come to, its time we had a cull !!! Want the real deal read this....
  7. I bloody hope so mate, I love travelling, but OMG its getting a little tedious to have to have a 3 or 4 hour drive every time you wanna hear a decent set of records (within reason)...its been over 35 years of travelling now, with no break to speak of...I'm getting tired zzzz..... Russ
  8. I am aware of that Pete, but to anyone who knows, there has always been some sort of scene in the areas I mention, as opposed to no scene as such in the area you refer to....sorry to be obvious, but just to be clear...the area I mention is one of those NS blips, were for some reason NS has always been popular... Russ
  9. South Coast meaning the area between Brighton & Bournemouth, taking in Portsmouth & Southampton, not the South generally. I would also add there are odd promoters who are the real deal, but the vast majority havnt got a scooby, pointless to even mention it here really, other than to correct the South Coast thing, as opposed to the entire South, as most of the so called promoters on the South Coast wouldnt be on a SOUL forum...when I say clueless, its being kind, trust me.... Best Russ
  10. Thing is there are some cracking, exciting DJ's on the SC, unfortunately they are almost always over looked....why ?
  11. Keeeeeerrrrrrccchhhhiiinnnnggggg....Its the Northern Soul cash cow !!!
  12. Yes, 'You Move Me' was deffo a club sound first, that got promoted to the premier leagues. 'So In Love' was played at the 100 Club & Lifeline consecutively, as well as else where too. Russ
  13. I do think that some records also take on an entirely different persona when played out at a club, through a good system....that along with the atmosphere etc can turn a record into something else. Russ
  14. They are in the same country lol.....serious question tho, were do these records have to be big to be counted ?. Russ
  15. My copy of 'So In Love' was in the first three JP found, the only other copy prior to that was RR own copy that was whipped n JP owned that anyway - the first time it was played since its release, was probably when Jason played it on his radio show. I think its pretty safe to say this was played for the first time in the UK at an All Nighter, almost definitely as the other copies were with DJ's that rarely do Soul Nights anyway... Best Russ
  16. No they're not, but ,nearly all the records I have mentioned fall in to that category though, doubt any of these will pack a floor at Kings Hall, Keele, etc, etc, but they ram it at Lifeline, 100 Club, Burnley, & all of the second rooms at other nighters, including Rugby, Gloucester, Radcliffe & some go in the main rooms at these places too, not forgetting the forward thinking Soul Nights up & down the country...but I spose it depends what you call a big nighter really, bums on seats or quality of the music & integrity of the people listening & dancing....most will eventually be excepted by the masses eventually, look at the Stafford classics that were shunned by the returnees originally, many have become excepted now... Best Russ
  17. Some more... The Rising Son - Good Loving Mill Edwards - Just Like the Weather Waymond Hall - What Will Tomorrow Bring Earl English & the Apaches/Apaches - Trying To Make Ends Meet Topics - Have Your Fun - (Re Activation) Notations - Trying My Best To Find Her Appointments - Steppin Closer Harvey Averne - Never Learned To Dance (Re Activation) Roy Roberts - You Move Me Sandy Hadley - Since I Found A Love (Re Activation, altho barely played originally, dropped when booted).
  18. Mystiques - Put Out The Fire Wanda McDaniel - Gangster Boy Grey Imprint - Do You Get The Message (re activation) Wally Coco - Message to Society Scott Three - Running Wild Fourth Level - Deep South Charles Simmons - Save The World Double O Demingos - Colour One Tear Black Pt 2 Superbs - Wind In My Sails Butch's Vessie Simmons Cover Up Almost too many to mention that Ady plays at the 100 Club from acetate, virtually all bangers....
  19. Was played at the Mecca originally. Russ
