  1. My god this is awfull...............pse tell me people dont dance to this ????? !!!. Russ
  2. Joan, what a bustin' record this is, thank you for posting this up, used to play it on the South Coast constantly to pretty much nonchalance, but this is a sleeping monster IMO builds & builds with soul ooooozing from every groove, dance floor friendly too' again IMHO. Everyone should go out & buy this fist clenching, heartbreakin slab 'o' soul right now & give it the recognition it deserves..............belting record. BTW I like it a little bit too . How much does this go for these day's anyone ????. Russ
  3. What about a sound file of the 70's version...anyone. Russ
  4. Royal Esquires Oxford Nights I have a theory about the Oxford Nights..............I reckon (& this is purely my opinion) that there is at least one international dealer who knows the 'true' story, but wont tell, as they were initially duped themselves & inadvertantly sold one or two before realising, now they are in the position that they dont want to admit to it cos it could ruin there rep !!!!. Same with the Clara Hardy either most of the stock turned up en masse or someone has the stampers IMHO. Russ
  5. I cannot pass by Aretha Franklin - Daydreaming - Atlantic...............love this soooooooooo much. Also the Impressions I'll Alway's be There - Curtom These records alway's make me smile !!!!. Russ
  6. What about: 7th Wonder-Captain of My Ship High Voltage-Country Road Night of the Wolf Russ
  7. Gotchaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . Tis mine !. Russ
  8. Think this was spken about recently..................so at the risk of going over old ground pse can you tell me about the availability of the 1932 mix, is it a 12 or 7, prefer this mix personally & need a copy............also how much, superior to the added sound effects to my ears. Thanks Russ
  9. Great stuff Mel & everyone else too......................thanks for the postings & clips, keep em coming. Sean H thought you would have a posting frenzy on this thread ?. Russ
  10. Thanks everyone, HBYGWO is a killer version on the LP. 'Baby You Got It' sounds cool too. Where there any 45's from the LP ???. Russ
  11. Can anyone tell me if there are any other worth while tracks on this LP other than HBYGWO ????????. Was this a legit release???...............seem to remember something about suspicion over its legality..maybe just my addled brain. Thanks in advance. Russ
  12. Thanks guy's. Russ
  13. I need the email address of carvers if anyone can provide it pse. Cant use the link on their website. Thank you. Russ
  14. Remember all those Spanish P/S of this going around at Wigan when this was a rather large choon !!!!. Russ
  15. What about 7ts instrumentals ????. I came across my copy of Disco Connection by the Isaac Hayes Movement the other day & gave it a spin, it sounds dated these day's & probably isnt right for today, but what made me smile to myself was the fact that I knew this record from Mr M's !!!!. Never really remember hearing it anywhere else since either. So it was a big oldie the first time I ever heard it !. Russ
  16. Derek, used to play t'other side at Absott/Newbury, since flipped it couple o years ago & what a splendid choon, adds a completely different dimension to the backing track IMO...........fantastic choice my friend & one that deserves more action methinks. Kick ass dancefloor soul with an attitude & them some. Russ
  17. Cheers J................. Russ
  18. Outstanding tune Neil.............anyone have a current price for this pse & availability (need one.anyone ???). Big thanks to everyone posting on the thread, some great tunes, you could do an awesome set from some of the tunes posted. Please keep em coming, real interesting stuff & as already observed earlier a lot of this stuff sounds sooooo fresh now. What about Deliah Moore on Middle earth, fantastic fogotten Mecca tune ( need one of these too ). Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but can anyone post a sound file, this beaut definitely has loads of spins left in it. Im sure that there are other SS members who have an opinion of the relevance of these tunes today & also there own favourites, so lets hear them guy's n gal's. Would you enjoy a set of this kinda of up tempo 7ts/8ts in the main room at a Nighter ????..............I think I would TBH..........not all night but either mixed in or one or two DJ's that play this kinda thing thru out the night would be good. Russ
  19. This stomps like a mutha. Russ
  20. Jesusssssssssssssss........................forgotten what a fantastic choon this is, thats the essence of a great oldie I spose, cant remember the last time I heard this played out to be honest.............great choice. Russ
  21. Great tune buddy, lets have a few more.................Sean H you must have a plethora of forgotten 7ts gems ???. Russ
  22. Let the Sunshine in.................. ..................nice one Neil, keep em coming. Russ
  23. Thanks Neil matey. Russ
  24. I really like some of the slightly more funky 7ts/8ts tunes that are coming thru these days Ellipsis/Ice/Mixed Emotions etc etc. I dont like straight up funk its not really my bag.........but if it has a good soul vocal & its not too syncopated then Im all for it. Got me to thinking that over the years there have been some fantastic 7ts tunes played on the scene, but other than the really obvious, we dont seem to talk about these as much as the 6ts tunes. I was listening to Jobell and the Orchestra De Salsa - Never Gonna Let You Go - Jan & I think that it really stands up to todays more recent 7ts/8ts discoveries, what do you think ??????? What are your favourite forgotten 7ts/8ts dancers...........no crossover kids, staight up dancers. BTW I cant do sound files so would appreciate it if any one could add a sound file of the Jobell for me, thank you. Russ
  25. Agreed............try to play out tracks from the LP when DJing, so much distortion impossible, didnt AD cut 'Sweet Memories' from the LP & have it cleaned up Chalks ????. P - Vine fine for home listening tho. Russ
