  1. Sorry to hear this. Remember him well from time spent in Manchester and at the Casino. He was a good lad. R.l.P. Tooley
  2. Thanks to both of you.
  3. Very sad news. I first met Alan in the early 70s when the Jackson family spent a few years in Belper, Derbyshire and we stayed in touch, albeit sporadically in recent years. He was a top man on every level. Condolences to his family and those closest to him. RIP Alan.
  4. Sam was the only DJ I heard play the Ruth Christie. He did play it for a while but it was never going to be a monster sound without the Casino getting behind it. I liked it and still do but had completely forgotten it ‘til l saw the list.
  5. ‘Miracle Love’ was actually Ruth Christie, ‘Mystery of a Miracle’ on Tide.
  6. Yes, mate. Identical to yours.
  7. That brings back memories. Had one just like it in the 70's, long since gone. Nice one.
  8. Not the best quality photo but an original yellow and green copy:
  9. Sad news indeed. Great lad. R.I.P.
  10. Just out of interest, the copy that Modus have for sale came out of Prince Buster's shop on Orange Street, Kingston JA in the early 90's. I got a few Northern things out of there: Paul Sindab on Hype (I'm Uptight, unfortunately!), a Volumes on Inferno, Anthony Raye on Impact and others l can't recall. Plus loads of reggae, of course.
  11. That's fantastic.
  12. I believe this was one of the initial batch of acetates of this title that Simon sent over.
  13. Dreadful news. I didn't see a lot of Nick but always enjoyed a good natter and a fair few laughs whenever we bumped into each other in Belper. As others have said - great knowledge and relentless enthusiasm for new records. Sincere condolences to the family and those closest to him.
  14. Sorted. Thank you.
  15. Could someone please PM me a contact number for Frank. Thanks Tim
  16. Ey up Tony These look nice together!
  17. Dreadful news. A really, really sound youth. Sincere condolences to Phil's family and those closest to him. R.I.P.
  18. And David Graham McCadden too, if I remember rightly. You'll probably remember this yourself, Rod but Dave (Withers) once told me the story behind this. Dave McCadden recorded himself doing a vocal to Cigarette Ashes with a spoken intro which went along the lines of 'Baby, you said you'd be here at eight, but you were late, and now there's just these cigarette ashes lying in the grate.' According to Dave (Withers) it was actually pretty good (it was done in an American accent - not broad Mancunian!) but the tape got wiped before anything came of it. As you say Tony . . .
  19. Shocking news. I loved Tony's sense of humour - it was always a real pleasure to spend time with him. Sincere condolences to those closest to him
  20. Yes. Mine's the same. Looking at it l doubted the Marvin Gaye was playable but it plays fine.
  21. Such sad news. Sincere condolences to his family and those closest to him. RIP
  22. I can't scan it but I've still got the copy I bought at the time. It's on Patches.
  23. Give over. Good as gold, the pair of 'em! Tim (Hope you're well Tony )
  24. The man's a legend! Give him my best please Tony.
  25. Records arrived safe and sound and even better than described. Buy with confidence - Rod's the only person I know whose own collection is all mint plus! Thanks Rod.
