  1. @Mike Lofthouse is your man for Bobby Bland releases. Last time i asked about his Bobby Bland collection he just needed one or two to complete the full set. There was one he wasn't sure came out even though it is listed, it could be the one you're asking about.
  2. Yes, ZZ Hill and Joe Taylor are the same song. I was stating that Joe Taylor has the wrong writing credits. Those credits are from a George Smith song with the same name from 1956.
  3. Two different songs with the same title from the same publishing company. The "Smith & Ling" song was done by George Smith in 1956 and it's a different song to ZZ Hill in 1964. The two record labels involved have the same parent company Modern Records. Looks like the credits on the later Joe Taylor cover should of went to ZZ Hill but got mixed up with the earlier song. The Joe Taylor version is brilliant, a great singer that i'd like to know more about.
  4. The writer Bobby Eaton also did it. I have the one from Discogs and its the only one ive ever seen. Definately the rarest of the "Brothers Of Soul" releases.
  5. I'm currently reading "Atlantic And The Godfathers Of Rock And Roll" Here's a bit about Morris Levy, owner of Roulette records buying 5 million MGM records for 20 cents each. The Bostocks stock could of come through this deal ?
  6. It's a brilliant double sider by a great artist. Ball Of Fire has been played quite a bit over the years, not sure how popular it is these days. Also done by Connie Austin before her on the same label.
  7. There's a few versions of it, Rodge Martin could be the first, he did it in 1962.
  8. I've just looked at S03 E02 on Dailymotion.com and it ends with Aretha "Say a little prayer" Have you got the episode right ?

  21. Same as me and i use these. I think Youtube doesn't like 3rd party sites doing this so a lot come and go. https://www.bigconv.com/v118 https://en.onlymp3.to/354/
  22. Thanks Sebastian, i didn't notice the Youtube clip. I thought the title could be something like "I'm Gonna Get You Someday" I have this record and there's a definate mistake were Carl forgets the lyrics and replaces a sentence with a hum, hum, hum. A possibility is the record was withdrawn after realising they'd sent the wrong cut to the pressing plant and then repressed with a different track "What's Come Over You" It's a styrene press so labels would of been added after the pressing. I think they pulled the record but some new labels ended up on the withdrawn discs.
  23. Does anyone know the real name of the song on this Carl Hall mispress. It definately sounds like Carl but i cant find anything that fits with the people he was working with at the time. https://www.discogs.com/release/13023704-Carl-Hall-My-Babys-So-Good There's a soundbite from the seller on Discogs https://sa.discogs.com/sell/audio/861852841.mp3
