Jesse Davis track is Ronnie Milsap album track. Mcnamara used to borrow this off me to DJ with along with the O V Wright album.Cover them up and think they were some major finds. Then stole the Vanguards "Good Times" from me, which was nice of him. :angry: Tomo

This was in Manships price guide a couple of years ago i think at £1000. Strangely though, it isn't even in the next guide. Only available on the issue and harder to find than the demo, but certainly not anywhere near the first quote. I've never heard this played out but sure would like to hear it cos it's 100% pure northern soul. In my opinion an over looked gem. Tomo

Hello Fraser, hope your keeping well. Think i've got the Gene Taylor but bought it for the other side "You got my nose wide open" a strange title but an excellent track. Can't think what the "Don't go away" side is like, i'll have to dig it out and give it a spin. Sounds late 60's or early 70's to me. I haven't seen this listed in a long while. I've had this by The Stereos. Can't remember the label but it was one of those moulded labels like Amy/Mala/Bell stuff. It's been a while since i heard it but this sounds exactly the same version. The same group ? Tomo

The acetate with Hermon Hitson on it is supposedly Nate Adams who recorded on Atlantic. He and Sam Williams both had records produced by Johnny Brantley. Tomo

Jordi, I've got the Leno Phillips, brilliant track and a rare one too. Leno is actually Phillip Leno Wright, Betty Wrights brother. He has another using this name on Dash, think it was the blue Dash label not the yellow one. He also recorded as Phillip Wright on the same label. "Confusion" for me is rarer and better than "Keep her happy" which has just been valued on a previous thread this week at $700. Tomo

I've had two Jamaican copys of this. Both had the same cover. A dark cover with white stars and strange shapes.Sorry, can't scan at this moment. I did see one on ebay with the man himself on the front cover.Both are on the "Joe Gibbs" label, "Do this world a favour" also came out in the 90s on an album on "Rocky one". Is your album pressed slightly off center ? I was told they are all like this. Another album worth looking out for is "Soul Reggae" on Water Lily from 1976. Tomo

Wasn't it Bob Burton, He sold off his records around the time he was DJ ing at Warrington.I got a few things from him, "Broadway Express" which at the time was a Ben E King C/U. I tried to get the Martha Reeves off him and he said he would never sell it. He didn't have it with him the last time i seen him cos he was in jail doing a long stretch for hijacking.
