  6. I've got some Philippine Motown 45s that are usually album only, Gladys Knight - Aint You Glad You Chose Love / I Know Better. Smokey Robinson & Miracles - Flying High Together. Marvin & Tammi, Martha Reeves and more. Only downside is the quality is hit and miss, some play great others are poor. Tomo
  7. Benji's from Germany, Munich area. He's also a long time member of this site.
  8. Although i can see the resemblance, i don't think that is Curly in the last picture. Regarding what happened to him, i haven't seen him in a few years, but he's alive and well and living in Stockton-On-Tees. My brother works close to his works and bumps into him now and then. Last time we spoke he showed some interest in going to a nighter but nothing came of it. He hasn't been on the scene since the mid 90s. Had his fair share of ups and downs but it's good to see him doing ok. If i see him i'll point him in the direction of this site, he seemed to know everyone on the scene at some point. Him and Cruisey were a good double act. Shute, your right. He certainly was unique.
  9. Think Dee Heron was on one of them, possibly the first one.
  10. Yes mate, Thanks. Packed and ready to go.
  11. Was playing an old Andy Davies Solar Radio show the other day. He played Nate Evans - Mainsqueeze, and commented that when he played it out a few people reckoned it was a different mix. Syl Johnson's voice is quite distinctive and i never picked up that it could be a different singer, i reckon there is a different mix but it's still Nate singing. Syl did record the song on Hi but it's a slower version. The Jap release uses the same backing as the Nate Evans with different lyrics, it was a duet with his then wife Brenda. Tomo
  12. As requested. MP3 of Johnnie Hoyle track.

  16. Bob's definately right on this. Some tracks or maybe all are different mixes. The one i think Richard wants it for "You can't fight what's right" is different to the 45 release, for me it's actually better. Richard, PM me an email address and i'll send you a good quality mp3 and i'm sure you'll notice the difference. Tomo
  17. Holly Maxwell ? Sound bite on Soulclub to check. Tomo
  18. On the O'Jays meet the Moments album. Stang records 1974. Also includes the brilliant album only track "Be my girl" by the O'Jays. Tomo
  19. #2 Ray Scott & The Scottsmen - Love Piled On Top Of Love - Decca Tomo
  20. Both originals from different pressing plants. The number after ST-76c 30180 could be specific to the pressing plant or the number of stampers used. The two i have are numbers 3 and 7. Just after the number on the label will be two initials, on mine theres PL pressed in Tennessee and SP pressed in Pennsylvania. Tomo
  21. It has been reissued but not sure how to tell the difference. A very strong album, not a bad track on it. I think Sundown is a slightly different mix, never really studied it but theres just something different. You'll be happy with your purchase and well worth the wait. Tomo
  22. It's not. That version is George Jackson. Previously unissued. Released on this album. https://www.grapevine-soul.com/GVCD3017.htm Tomo
  23. Temptations - Just My Imagination - is my favorite 70s Motown track. Haven't an mp3 handy to upload so heres a link to a nice YouTube vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INcqn2RLoB0 Tomo
  24. Hey Rob, You keep pulling them out. To think i had these locked up in my garage all that time. I thought there was nowt left. A trip to disney my arse, more like a new set of golf clubs and a trip to Seaton Carew. Tomo
  25. Mel, There was a Kent / 100 club release of this by Chubby Checker. Though i'm told it was actually Jimmy Radcliffe. The same as the one posted above. Tomo
