Did you get this off me Daz ?, i had a few of them. They were definitely 100% original test pressings. A bargain at that price, issues sell for at least that.

If You Had The Chance To Be In A Recording Studio/ What Record
Alan T replied to Rodders22's topic in All About the SOUL
Steve karmen talking about the Breakaway session - " In the case of Pontiac I had stretched the middle section hoping to keep it completely instrumental with no vocals at all. During the wrap up all the singers would enter and Jimmy would provide the 'ad-lib' fills to inspire America to recall the commercial and then rush out and buy Pontiacs. At the session my client asked Jimmy if he could ad lib something over the middle section about what it would feel like to be free, or to be set free or to break away. What you hear is his first and only ad lib reading. After he had finished, completely bowling over everyone in the booth my client was seized with the desire to script and improve on Jimmys ad lib. But of course the performance we used was the first one, because it was the best and the most honest" -
I had four mint white demos, they sold for around £100 each. It's still a popular record and sells well. Black issues are a lot harder to find and would sell for maybe double that.

Be careful buying one without listening to a soundfile, lots of them are mislabeled and actually play a song called 'Trademark'.
-
Hard to beat his 60s and 70s output, a lot of my favourites have already been posted so i'll try this one from the 90s, i had a long wait to find this on vinyl. Superb singer. Al Green - Give It Everything

The Chelsea album mix is slightly different to the JB's 45. Not much difference but the added horns on the 45 makes it my favourite version .
-
Ed Townsend album also includes this great track, slow spoken start but builds up to be another Curtom winner. Ed Townsend - How Could You Do It

Please Help To Identify Some 80Ies Steppers And Rare Grooves
Alan T replied to Soulsan's topic in All About the SOUL
It's David Oliver, he wrote the song too. I have it on one of his albums. -
What's the score with 'International Signed For', can it be tracked all the way and can you get signature proof that the buyer received it. Is anything still tracked by Royal Mail after leaving the U.K. ? Is using 'International Signed For' the only way you'll be covered as a seller against a Paypal claim for non delivery.

One of my all time favourites, the other side "Take time to love your woman" is really good too. I upgraded to a nice clean copy recently , a must have record.
-
Marvin Gaye - My favourite version of Distant Lover, Live At The London Palladium Album 1977. A perfect performance.
-
The 1996 album is like a reissue of tracks from a few albums from 1977/8 . I'm guessing the rights for the Don Davis Groovesville tracks on those albums ended up with Paula. Johnnie Taylor would of been doing stuff with Malaco in 1996. He never recorded for Paula / Jewel / Ronn, people get him and Little Johnny Taylor who did record for these labels mixed up, they are two different artists. Just buy anything you see by Johnnie Taylor he was a great singer.
-
Hello Wayne, the pink Paula is a legit release from 1996. Both tracks are from the "Stop half loving these woman" album.

That'll get Michael a good bike, save a bit for Yarmouth though. Today was a good news day and we'll need to celebrate, drinks are on you.
