One on my site update..... https://rhythm-and-soul45s.com/shop/search.php?pageid=3108471&q=larry+trider
  2. 150+ items recently added to site - predominately R&B on this update, so if that's your thang get digging - link to NEW STOCK section below, but plenty of goodies in the other sections..... https://rhythm-and-soul45s.com/ourshop/cat_870788-NEW-STOCK-45s-ALL-GENRES-.html
  3. Then I would contact ebay & PayPal with your concerns as soon as possible, they might tell you to wait to see if it arrives but at least you have alerted them to the possible scam.
  4. Flanny, if it's sent registered then when your package arrives film yourself receiving if from postman as you sign and tell the postie you need them to wait as you open it in front of them so they can witness if package is empty.....film it all and include a link to the thread as proof you've been scammed.... If you ain't home but someone else is tell them to not sign for it and go collect from sorting office personall.....explain same to them and film yourself opening in front of a PO witnes. I should imagine all buyer will be ripped off so it should become apparent to ebay & PayPal that you have been scammed, but I'd cover your arse in this way all the same.
  5. The point I made about excessive packing materials is quite valid though Pete.....I accidentally overpacked one a few weeks ago so it was just tight through letterbox guide and had to pay £4.30.......I could have come home and repacked but wanted to get the record off to the buyer that day and it was late on so I had to pay the extra. If the seller has made the same mistake they could innocently think that's the going rate. Seems niave I agree, but if they aint used to packing within RM limitations its an easy mistake to make. I've overpaid postage to get records many times, quite recently of a paper list from the States the seller overcharged me by $15 for a bunch of 45s.....figured it cost me $1 a record, and whilst its annoying I didn't complain cus I got some great stuff for decent prices, and figure if I complained or demanded a refund he might not deal with me again. Don't make it right, and its still annoying, but I figure it aint always worth cutting your nose off to spite your face. Unless its 'The Count' of course.......
  6. Reason enough....
  7. Possibly so, but that's through lack of understanding what the gains are actually for, and as I've pointed out, doesn't take much to learn. You do come over very bitter and negative in the majority of your posts Phil....why is that?
  8. Actually, if they knew what they were doing, DJs should slightly constantly adjust the gains on each record as necessary to keep that channel in the green........necessary if using 45s and LPs, but also recording levels differ on 45s, some dramatically, and the gain should be adjusted to suit. However, most think its purely an 'extra volume' control....banging it up to max, red lining and distorting the mixer output which then gets amplied to MORE distortion. Its a necessary tool of the mixer if used correctly......however, on the Soul, R&B and Mod scenes, this is rarely the case. Plenty of Youtube tutorials out there if you want to check them out.....I'll add one for convenience (start at 1.15 mins if presenter is too annoying for ya !) If you DJ, or about to DJ, and don't fully understand how a mixer works, please spend an hour or so educating yourself..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBW_pKHoFHg
  9. I told him his car was looking tired and he should consider selling it and put funds towards upgrading......he told me no chance, then got in touch a week later.....
  10. If you exceed that 'letterbox' slot size first recorded goes from £2.34 actual to about £4.30 ! Its possible that this is why the seller quoted £5....if he packed with extra stiffeners and increased depth of package too much it would be £4.30 + materials.
  11. They are corrugated like carboard, not a solid plastic sheet....hence lightweight, strong, and can absorb shock. You obviously rotate one sheet to the other by 90 degrees so corrugation runs opp way and increases strength.
  12. The ones I use can be re-used indefinitely, they are really strong, and just as importantly, extremely light in weight. Cost is more than cardboard, but as I said, I was using 5 card stiffeners cus the UK supplied ones are flimsy as fcuk....I even posted up on here about finding a supplier for the rigid card ones you get from the States. So I looked at what options plastic ones offered, and now I have about 3000 of the buggers! Keep an eye on ebay for offcuts - I bought 450 pieces large enough for LPs of a guy in Leeds for a fiver all in and a mate picked them up for me.....just need to find some LPs to sell now !
  13. I use 2x 6mm thick custom cut plastic stiffeners and brand new cruciform or envelope mailers. Way stronger than those flimsy card square stiifeners (which I was originally using 5 per package)..... and whilst actual postage still comes in at £2.34, the packaging costs me 60p per parcel. So I charge £2.95 for first class recorded to cover the full cost. When buying I would personally rather pay slightly more to know that the packaging is sufficiently strong enough...we often see posts on here about records arriving broken in a paper envelope with no stiffeners. £5 however, is simply taking the piss!
  14. Ernie, in respect to the Lenny Curtis I've since posted the exact scan he's used from Pat Bradys site....that other one was different in quite a few ways as folk have detailed.
  15. As a side note, always worth checking Google Images as well as Popsike and Collectors Fenzy if in doubt, cus that's how I found the Pat Brady scan.....
  16. Probably more effective notifying PayPal that they gonna be refunding some serious coin to a few poor souls (no pun intended)
  17. Dib dib dib, dab dab dab, dance dance dance....
  18. Looks hand sewn and would take a good few hours to make, but I reckon you could design one offs and get them machine sewn and still get stupid money...in fact, I know a guy round the corner with an embroidery machine who makes all the local scouts patches....I've actually got a huge roll of embroidery backing that I have recently acquired that I was gonna try to flog him so might have to have a chat about such things!!!!
  19. I would if I didn't usually go bed at 3am !
  20. Never seems enough hours in the day pal....I'm supposed to be updating my site for end of month and not even started that yet.
  21. Looks like Lenny Curtis was lifted off Pat Bradys site... It's been cropped and rotated but looks same to me.... https://www.northernsoul45s.co.uk/auctions_detail.asp?id=360
  22. Empires is deffo same pic....not same Lenny Curtis....centre hole cuts through orange/red band into blue background on one but not other....some of label wear is also different and the comment about the 961 spacing is spot on
  23. Just a matter of time Daz.....a warm welcome awaits you in the Pow Wow room !
  24. Yes mate, had all 3 of JJ on PAL through my hands.....dunno
