  1. Chapter 5 'You can't mean it' about 20 years ago. I was an apprentice earning £45 a week and paid £150 for it. Great thread......
  2. Hi Juddy, it was released on U.S. and Canadian Sue 45s Regards Mace
  3. yep.....
  4. https://cgi.ebay.com/MIKE-PEDICIN-YOU-GOTTA...1QQcmdZViewItem ...glad I only paid $20 for mine......wonder if loads will now appear on ebay over the next few weeks?
  5. Actually Jim I must do, or I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.. I bought it for a couple of quid 15 years ago, but sold it with a few other bits to fund some other purchases. Its a nice enough tune, but I'm actually gutted for not keeping it and getting a better price in todays market. To make matters worse I'm sure it went to your mate Mr Marshall.... ...and you know I listen, cus I pestered you enough for your Kel Osborne and Reg Guest Syndicate 45s all those years ago...(which, by the way, you sold to me far too cheap ) Still got your old Herbie Goins Crusin'/Number one in your heart 45 as well.....have you seen the price of that baby lately... Nah nah nah nah naaaaaahhhhh
  6. Sold this about 10 years ago for £5.....bugga
  7. He has indeed....and pretty desperate to get his hands on it as soon as possible. Lovely tune.
  8. PMed ya Des
  9. Wasn't sure if it was a general music query, or one with soul connections. 'Summertime' and 'Fever' have plenty of 45 released covers by soul/blues artists as well as pop artists so I'm sticking with my choices. Has 'My way' actually been released by many different artists on 45 release?
  10. Not surprised at that price...usually twice at much....
  11. 'Fever' and 'Summertime' must be up there somewhere...
  12. Hi Pete. Think Ezzie is after Chandeliers on Sue....was talking about it at Bidds on saturday and told him I'd seen on listed on SS this week. Pageants has a decent flip too...a bargain at £25!
  13. Just picked up a spare copy of Ernestine Anderson 'Keep an eye on love' on U.K. Sue in excellent condition. Labels are crisp and clean.....a true beauty! Serious offers only by p.m. / email by Wednesday evening (2nd May)... Regards Mace
  14. Is this still a pre-printed card they fill in, cus my post office just write the addy on the receipt for proof of postage nowadays so presume this is proof of posting?
  15. Pete, I've had them turn up in just a brown paper envelope....in one piece...
  16. You could always ask him to return it to you so you could refund him....and then if you were dishonest enough, post it off special delivery to someone you know & trust, then make a claim.....wouldn't dream of doing it meself like....
  17. Pretty sure Dave Evison is selling his copy of Marjorie Black mate.. Regards Mace
  18. Spoke to Mik about this earlier on. Used to play this on the Mod scene in the early 90s, my copy played 'Hold back the tears' and for some reason can't find the bugger at the moment. It does however include the lyrics 'One more try' near the end of the track, and can be heard on soulclub as this same track. So if this is a mispress, has anyone actually got a sound bite of the track that is supposed to be called 'one more try' cus I've only ever heard the track which starts 'Please, hold back the tears.....'? Regards Mace ***sorry, only just seen Miks last post so kinda repeated his question***
  19. Ha ha....always the bridesmaid eh Joe..... Mark Thomas won it.......nice tune, and if it is a 'one off' he's got a good'un......my snipe of $488 never had a look in mate....
  20. Stevie...do you know this that went through ebay a few weeks or so ago.....I reckon you'll love it..... https://www.centralsoulclub.com/files/ACETATE2.mp3
  21. ....seen loads of the Hull copy go through ebay about 12/18 months ago, so presume there are more than a 'handfull' knocking about.
  22. Going rate about £30 issue/£40 demo Mik. Shouldn't be too hard to get hold off....
  23. The name Popcorn originates from the original club where it all started, worth doing a google search for Belgium Popcorn and visiting a few sites. Brief history review on link below (pdf file) https://box44.bluehost.com/~popcorno/PDF/HistoriekENG.pdf
  24. Its not all to do with 60s pop at all, its a scene that encompasses many different genres of 50s & 60s music including soul, R&B, ska, latin, teen + lots more...though the beat and tempo are more important to their scene than the genre its labelled by...... Some tunes played on the popcorn scene are quality soul and R&B tracks.
  25. Sorry to hear it mate, you obviously thought long and hard before selling up. Hope everything is okay, drop us a p.m. if you need owt I can help ya with mate. Regards Mace
