  1. Shute had it for sale recently...not sure if he still has it?

    Little Oscar

Hi mate - thought you posted it up on here....probably to ask value and we did deal through I.M? Anyway, as you requested, you can have an extra 50 pence if I ever decide to sell it

    Little Oscar

To be honest Mark, (and as Joe said), £250 value is way too high IMO. Proof of pudding is that your Little Oscar is still in my collection (as is your Nat Hall), at a price we were both happy with.....if I had sold the bugger for £200 you would certainly be justified in worrying about losing any coin on it. I definately wasn't willing to pay any higher, and I bet a pound to a penny you had no other higher offers for it when you listed it for sale on here. In which case, perhaps I paid too much? A record is only worth what the highest bidder is willing to pay at the end of the day. Has anyone actually bought or sold Little Oscar above the £150 mark? I personally doubt it, but I have been wrong before.... Only the once mind......
  4. Ezzie, didn't realise you were so old....and why on earth were you listening to Wham L.P.s. you gayboy Sorry Mark, great thread, just couldn't resist....it's them little voices in my head that shout 'GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY...TAKE THE P*SS NOW!'

    Little Oscar

I'd say this was about right for a decent copy. Got mine off Mark Bicknell for about £100 if I remember correctly.
  6. .....oh go on then... Chortle, chortle, chortle
  7. Never flipped mine after all these years.....quite a nice track mate, bit weak in parts, but still nice. There was a cheap copy on ebay tonight...not sure if its finished yet or not?
  8. Sorry mate, I meant opposite (as in ropey = crap where '3 little pigs' is concerned) IMO of course..... 2 different 45 rpm releases/versions of Little Willie John 'I'm Shakin' btw. Regards Mace
  9. It was a good few years back mate, still a result even then though. (that price included about $8 postage mind ) The CD is okay, but as with all comps there is a few ropy tracks on there (3 little pigs being one of them) You can see full track listing on amazon link below.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/King-New-Breed-Rhy...3301797-3502830
  10. It's the first track on Kent CD 'King New Breed Rhythm & Blues' Unbelievable that the boot has gone for so much, but when it was first listed there were bidders who did not realise it was a boot despite the huge red writing in description, and after a thread on modculture about this they retracted their bid, so it may be that the high bidders never noticed? The original went for $800 - $900 a few weeks back....demand is very high for this 45 (even if Ted M doesn't like it... ) if packs dancefloors at R&B and Mod dos alike, and was popular on the popcorn scene (though pitched right down) I'm quite glad mines an issue....well worth the $30 it cost me...
  11. Seem to remember that the Roulette cut much superior? Mace
  12. PMed ya mate
  13. I'd have thought £20, maybe £30 max (but that would be pushing it) This ain't a £50 tune... Mind you, I ain't got a spare, but if I find one you can have it for £49.99. Bargain....
  14. Musers are losers mate....
  15. Funny as fcuk....watch this clip first...3.25 mins in....recognise anyone? https://youtube.com/watch?v=z7_7upnfMRg Then this one.....
  16. This was fetching over £70 for a U.S. copy a few years back. Probably levelled at about £50 now. His other, more grittier RCA 45 'Payday' goes for around the £30 mark. Aussie RCA 45s do look nice, and I'd certainly pay more for an Aussie 45 than a U.S.
  17. 'What good is a castle'..Pt2 of course eh mate....ah, good memories... Played Monguito Santa-Maria 'Hey Sister' at Amlwch Allnighter and Brookfields Wolverhampton recently...to very busy and appreciative dancefloors...
  18. I've had a couple of copies of the Fania release of Special Girl with 'Magic Rose' on flip. One went to Johnny Beggs (sure you'll be glad to hear that Jim). Great tune...played it at Sandbach J17 last week....has someone bouncing upi to the decks to find out what it was. Quite hard to find the Fania 45...though I think one went on ebay last week... Nice to hear some quality latin getting spins on the soul scene again....
  19. ...or Love beads.....might help you forget about smoking for a while (well at least until you've 'arrived'..) https://www.shop.tabooboo.com/index.asp?fun...mp;productid=71

  21. It's had lots of plays on Mod Scene over last 15 years+ It has been played at Northern Soul nights/allnighters but can't recall hearing it at a soul event for a long time. It did get a 7" foreign release (though I can't remember which country...) Mik Parry has a copy. Mace
  22. £20 - £30 tune....I sold a white promo to Carl Willingham a couple of years ago. Great record.
  23. Just been talking to Jo and guessed it was Gillian who dated Rob. She was a lovely girl. I will let Paul know, though it's probably on Modculture by now. Does Nick Brady know? Such terribly sad news.....
  24. Very sad news Kirsty. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Gillians family and friends, especially the little one. I remember Gillians name, but for some reason I can't seem to picture her face. R.I.P. Mace, Jo, Jenny & Daniel.
