  1. Up for grabs... Sugar Boy Williams 'Little Girl' on Herald 555 in Excellent condition. Monster R&B floorpacker. NOW SOLD.....thanks for looking regards Mace
  2. I've got a Tommy Jay 45 on the M.O.C. label (bought blind and in the junk pile )
  3. You could say that about any cover version of any track though Rowly. Including 60s British covers of U.S. blues and R&B tracks. It might encourage someone to buy her next/current CD and that could contain some quality original tracks for all I/we know? Plus, there's no way the Etta James version will be getting the airplays that this might get over forthcoming months.....but it could well get more exposure in the long run because of it.
  4. Totally agree with this post, surely it's better that decent covers such as this are hitting the charts etc rather than the usual drivel.....not sure the youngsters who hear it will take it any further, but some might just seek out Ettas original version and other titles by her, and that's got to be a positive thing imo. Coupled with the Sharon Jones '100 days 100 nights' track below, I think I might have to change my opinion on modern soul
  5. You know that I hate to disagree with you Chalks .....but shouldn't quality and rarity dictate price rather than rarity alone.....a shit tune is a shit tune regardless of rarity. We may have varied taste (thank fcuk ) but I think the majority can recognise a quality tune, and if its rare to boot then the value will inevitably increase. Agreed that a dancefloor packer will attract more potential buyers (DJs etc) and will therefore push the price up somewhat, but on genuinely rare quality tunes I think the value would usually still reach a similar figure with or without the dancefloor reaction.
  6. I've got a spare copy if you are looking for one
  7. Pretty sure a few of us went up to the Carlton club on scooters from Stoke many moons ago. Seem to remember the 2 flight of stairs and pictures or posters of soul artists on the walls (this sticks in my mind as I'm sure I can remember one of Herbie Goins & The Nightimers amongst them)? Mace
  8. Already got it.....but astounded that anyone has paid £250 for it. But if its supposedly going for that kind of money it might be time to get rid.........
  9. Keith, does this mean it sold for £250 or was listed at £250? Surely no-one paid £250 for a copy of this
  10. Keep trying it mate - I thought it was really helpful. I had 3 negs removed when I first started selling on ebay....had a transaction dispute with some prick and he created a new ID and put over the top high bids on 3 items I was selling on ebay at the time. Day after he won them he posted neg feedback even though he'd never paid (obviously never intended to), but he'd also done it on a few other sellers and I sussed him out, contacted other sellers and we all contacted ebay...they removed the negs after a couple of weeks. Beauty of it all was I offered the items to second highest bidders and they all bought them even though prices were high...seem to remember a copy of Lou Johnson Unsatisfied on blue Bigtop went for about £70!!! Fall in a sewer and come out wearing a gold watch me...
  11. Pete, there is a LIVE CHAT facility on ebay.com which works like an Instant messaging system. Used it when I had a prob with logging on and they were really helpful and quick at resolving my probs...saves waiting 3 days for an automated email response! I posted a link to the live chat facility on a thread on here about probs with logging onto ebay due to 'third parties' accessing accounts (which seemed to be due to esnipe). Ain't got it too hand but let me know if you're struggling as I'll try and get it for ya. Regards Mace

  14. .....£142.38, half a dozen fresh oatcakes and a signed photo of Johnny Beggs playing the bongos
  15. I'll ask him, but I doubt if he can remember what he did last friday, never mind what he played over 4 weeks ago mate...he is getting on a bit nowadays Only £130 for 'Return to Spanish Harlem' Cheapskate...I'll pay £135.....
  16. Indeedy...and El Beggsy will be doing more of the same at Bidds Allnighter on December 22nd (well if Warrens gonna plug I might as well join in.. )

    R&b Wants

Little Joe Hinton and Shorty Long both on ebay tonight (not sure if finished yet though?) Got a Woody Herman somewhere (had U.K. and U.S. promos) but will have to dig 'em out and get back to you. Got a Jo Ann Campbell on ABC promo but not sure if I wanna sell it or not......p.m. me an offer if you want and I'll let you know either way. Regards Mace
  19. Agreed about his version of 'Oh lord...', well worth checking out
  20. I'll pay £205 Hard record mate, been looking for a good while now (as Denbo knows ) Was surprised how high bidding went on ebay as (wrongly) thought it was still unknown. Ah well, cats out the bag now...
  21. No probs mate....that company actually prints and ships from Germany....pretty unbelievable really at the cost they charge and quality is excellent. Another example of how we get shafted in the U.K. If 4 local events have one flyer between them and split the cost it's cheaper than having b&w photocopies!
  22. Well, if you want the best deal going for future flyers then try Flyers24 (Print24) on link below. https://flyer24.co.uk/?sid=652bf5fd637322f2...;pg=kalkulieren 5000 full colour A5 flyers on 150gms glossy paper delivered in 7 days all in for around £92. You can get 4 x A6 flyers on that format at a cost of £23 per event!!! Ensure you choose the options I've listed above when calculating cost, as this is the cheapest option (ie semi-glossy paper or 4 day delivery increases cost) Also, you usually get flyers delivered within 4-5 days even though you chose the 7 day option. Confirmation emails to acknowledge receipt of artwork, personal phone calls if there are any probs with artwork, and a UPS internet tracking number to find out where your parcel is Can anyone beat that!
  23. I'm sure the last copy I saw for sale went for about £900+ on ebay about 2 years ago (think it was Rob Kay who sold it). Quality tune....if you happen to find 2 cheapish copies please give me the nod...
  24. Mine has the script text for label name. I believe it's supposed to be the rarer release, can anyone confirm?
