On saying that, I'm sure the next one is on a Saturday....might even be next saturday...will check and let you know. 98% feedback is okay in my books mate... As for Rufus Lumley 'Mineaplis Minnesota' , well its packing dancefloors from Wolverhampton to Middleton, Bidds and Burnley mate....you're just not going to the right events/allnighters. Stop fannying around in crossover corner and get back to the real world
  6. Biscuits/Oatcakes.....you're more obsessed with food than me Willie I've told the missus it can also clean the oven, iron me shirts and take the dog for a walk so she best get her act together... Already had the p*ss taken about the LP on modculture....so won't bite on here...
  7. Imagine this will be moved to 'audio etc' but posted it here cus I thought it would be of more interest to the vinyl anoraks than the technical nerds Just won this on ebay, anyone seen one of these before? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...:EOIBSA:GB:1123
  8. Hi Anton, I can't even imagine what you've all been through....first I've heard about it but relieved to hear everything seems to be okay now. Regards Mace
  9. Wasn't it the Marvin Gaye version that was released on Motown 7"? Though why have the Jimmy Ruffin version cut on a carvers when you you can hunt down and play the Marvin Gaye version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhY4InwZNTc
  10. Nice one Ged. I bought a 'lot' off ebay a few years ago that was mainly 70s, 80s & 90s pop stuff except it had a copy of Herb Ward 'Strange Change' amongst them Cost me about $60 total with shipping (I had to take all 50 or so 45s cus seller told me he had already packaged them up prior to listing them....) Couldn't see the records properly in auction photo, so half expected the white promo boot copy when they arrived......was a proper one though Like you say, still bargains to be found on ebay if you dig deep
  11. Hi Andy.....hope you are both well. Send us some up mate.
  12. Of course it did Pete....... you only posted the topic because of the 'massive in Notts' comment on the description. So although it was not the sellers intention to expect your reaction to the description, the point is it still helped to sell the item......
  13. Oh please.......
  14. Whats well cuffed mean...or are you getting shirty My comment is not based on end result.....but gaining max views for auction (hence the 'you can lead a horse to water....' comment)
  15. $19.99 too much in my book You can lead a horse to water.... Besides which, those still listed at $140 are worth FA till they actually sell
  16. The irony of it all, has resulted in the inception of this thread, nearly 500 views and over 30 posts as I type......wonder how many have clicked the link to view the auction? Regardless of whether this tune is big in Notts or not, I'd say the ebay description has been extremely effective and served its purpose.....to attract the maximum viewings of this item listing. Bet the seller is well chuffed
  17. Nice to have you back Mike.....now all seems okay you'd best grab yourself a quick cuppa before starting work on me banner for next week
  18. That probably hits the nail on the head imo. (Makes the buggers earn there minimal wage as well.... ) Combined with booking DJs with different styles.....however, in a predominately oldies orientated venue like Kings Hall that would obviously be tougher to implement. I also find drinking copiuos amounts of beer both improves playlists, and also seems to reduce repeats as far as you can remember the next day......be warned however, that it must somehow also increase ear sensitivity to loudness of music cus you also end up with a bad headache the next morning in most cases....
  19. Not forgetting it has a mega flipside that is just as good as 'Why' Worth every penny of £800
  20. To be honest, other than the legal issues associated with such items, I can never understand why anybody gets wound up by this kind of thing. Lets be honest, anyone can do the same via vinyl carvers (or so I believe....is the legality of such items ever questioned by VC when orders are placed?) Surely most, if not all of these items are available via CD (legal or otherwise) so I presume anyone can easily do the same via VC if they feel the need (for whatever reason? ) At the end of the day, the money would be better spent (IMO) on an underplayed or overlooked cheapie...that with the right spins/backing can possibly become the next big thing... or at least set the dancefloor alight on the odd occasion. Truth is, these kinda items have always been out there...maybe just more obvious since the internet & ebay came along........now't new, so why get excited/annoyed/wound up by them now? Que sera sera..............(p.s. I'm slightly p*ssed so please excuse any spelling mistakes... )
  21. Happy New Year to each and every one of you. Mace
  22. Blimey....praise indeed for lil' old Bidds.......I'm gobsmacked, and that doesn't happen to often (as many will confirm) So much so that I don't know how to reply other than thankyou very much for your comments and vote....even more so for making the effort to support us on saturday. It was 'Magenta' that Johnny Beggs played, and possibly 'Evans Pyramid' was the other one that caught your attention....I will introduce you to Johhny at Middleton so he can enlighten you on full info on these tracks Cheers Mace
  23. Wishing all you bunch of misfits a very Merry Christmas.
