  1. Other label is Sabra. Link to another thread about it.... /Louis-b...nes#entry797517
  2. Hi Matt, I have this on Okeh white promo, but I'm sure I've seen it on another label, but can't remember what it was on? No clue on value, great tune. It's credited to L.Jones and backed by the Bobby Scott orch. Regards Mace
  3. Think it was still in his box last night @ £450

You're actually missing the most important essence of the concept, labelling a record you don't personally like as being crap......one mans meat and all that.

Think it was mentioned on the Pet Hates thread...not really banned, but watch yer back

Thought that word, along with Choon and Choonage, were no longer acceptable on this site. MODERATOR ..........

I don't see it as snobbery, just a case of wanting to collect the original.......same as collectors of any rare objects. As for being able to afford rare soul 45s, try to look outside the box of collecting the big obvious tunes that fetch big money....go out to the venues, scour the record bars, try to listen to plenty of tunes you don't know in sales boxes, ask sellers if they have any stuff they would recommend in the genre and budget you are after.....it's relatively easy to do if you are willing to put the time and effort into it. There are plenty of £20 - £50 records worth collecting, plenty of them could potentially go big and rocket in value. Try and build your own individual collection rather than chasing big tunes you can't afford.....and don't make the mistake of ploughing yourself in debt on credit cards, you'll only end up selling off records to pay off mounting debts...all imo of course.
  8. I've deffo seen more U.S. promos than issues.

I've just checked print24 and they do Cd size (120 x 120 quadrate). Same sort of price (£66), cheaper still if you go got 170 gms paper(£63), though price increases if you choose semi-glossy or quicker turnaround (5 days rather than 7 etc) Regards Mace

Print24.co.uk...they'v recently cut 20% of flyer prices (and they were cheap before) 5000 A6 full colour double sided flyers on glossy 250gms card for £66 inc vat and delivery from Germany within 7 days!!!! Not sure on smaller quantities and CD size etc but doubt you'll find a better deal. Regards Mace

Hi mate, if you are going Lifeline on saturday give us a pile there....otherwise just post some up to me, and I'll dish 'em out on me travels. Hope you are both well and all that. Regards Mace
  14. Yup, I lived in Northwich for 12 years Steve...think Tot Johnson had something to do with the soul nights there. Obviously both Civics come under Vale Royal council, so nighter license might be granted, though there are lots of houses right next to Northwich Civic. Mace
  15. Northwich Civic is a great venue, but it's right in the middle of Northwich, which has more than it's fair share of local knobheads and no local nightclub that I know of. With the local pisshead pubs emptying out only a stones throw away, and the no-smoking regs forcing people to smoke out front, it could prove to be a right nightmare.

I'll swap you mine for that Ray Agee you've hammered to death
  17. They certainly do exist, there was a well known U.S. dealer at Allentown last September with the proper Southbound Freeway priced up at $400...not sure if it's worth that, or wasn't aware...but it's a proper piece of shite. SBF might be rarer that TG, but surely a proper TG is more appealing? I've got a black one, not sure which of the TG releases are harder though? The live video clip, filmed at a Festival is on Youtube.
  18. Chris & Binty. Just wanna wish you both all the best, it was a pleasure working with you both at Queens Hall. Promoting, they say, is a thankless task, but I'll say thanks anyway, for some great nights out and for also giving me the chance to play my tunes at CIS, Wulfrun and Brookfields over the last few years. You know you'll both always be welcome as my guests at Bidds, anytime you wanna join us. The old shark tank will be somewhat less exciting without you both in it Regards Mace
  19. Think he moved Cornwall/Devon way a few years back....not spoke to him for about 3 years...he still had a fantastic collection though
  20. Can you get in pubs nowadays then Dunno mate, will have to try end meet up somewhere......just in case we don't recognise each other I'll wear a red carnation and you wear a set of stilts
  21. ...it was certainly............memorable.....
  22. 'Kinnell you've got a good memory for a midget ....but it was Jo's motor not mine. Beggsy bought one last year, a right beauty till he wrapped it around a lampost after leaving Bidds one morning...swears he never fell asleep mind
  23. If you didn't get it back then, and you don't get it now, then why waste my time at 1.30 in the morning trying to explain now.....
  24. Outwards or upwards? Obviously not the latter. You still got a dodgy tashe???
  25. Sure does........good job she hates dwarfs though eh, cus we know what a randy little fcuker you were back in dem days.....
