  1. The one and same Rich, though I believe he used to have little time for Rare Soul 45s. His website below... https://www.tefteller.com/ Love the quote... "Records have a way of hiding" How true is that FFS...
  2. Perhaps you should indulge a little later in the night to prevent such conversations
  3. The plain orange issues are Canadian. The original U.S. issue is striped but doesn't have the white outer rim on the edge of the label.....gotta agree with Joe, looks iffy to me.
  4. £25 or thereabouts. Regards Mace
  5. Well, I could stay closer to home and go Keele, but I'm gonna end up closer to Joes home in Sheffield... Pow Wow Saturday mate?
  6. I won the one with the Worlds Fair autograph sleeve....and still have the sleeve ;o) I've seen about 5 on ebay in the last few years and search for it regularly, I've won a few cus it was pretty much unknown at the time I was bidding. As for Martyns 'overated' comment....this tune packs the floor everytime so go figure....
  7. As a matter of interest (and I'm honestly not trying to be a cock here) , will it be a pushed as a rare room or an upfront room? Sounds picky I 'm sure, but will the DJs be encouraged to play just the rare biggies (that may not work in the main room) so as to fill the dancefloor, or push out unknowns and new discoveries even if the dancefloor suffers? Seriously hoping for it will be the latter, for all the right reasons......
  8. had a beer or three have we.... I might hear something new, but more likely Something new to do ...but you're right about me sales box.....God loves a tryer though
  9. I actually think it's a good thing that Kings Hall is opening a rare room, I will deffo start going again for this reason alone (though hoping they will allow record sales in rare room cus I really don't wanna sit on the balcony listening to the main room playlists). I don't see why you worry if it will affect your promotions Phil, I'm certainly not worried that it will have any impact on Bidds and it's only 4 miles away from me. As well as it's strong support from nationwide oldies fans, Kings Hall attracts a lot of local support from old soulies/mods/scooterists, many of whom go nowhere else the rest of the year. I see such faces in there that I ain't seen for donkeys years, as well as guys I've worked with who go along hoping to hear Motown and James Brown etc but still have a great night cus of the atmosphere. The fact that those who travel to more upfront venues may start frequenting KH again for this 3rd room doesn't mean (IMO) they will stop attending the venues they used to to hear such tunes...after all, it's only on 4 or 5 times a year.
  10. No doubt Des will tell me if I'm wrong, but I heard at the last Allentown 45 Show that the dealer who made most money on the saturday was the one selling Manships guide....
  11. That just leaves Terry to do the dirty then.....
  12. Fair enough, but I still don't get the 'very slow tunes' comment Kev, cus I can't recall any allnighters that suffer such spots at 4am. So please put me out of my misery and name the venues and DJs responsible and then maybe the promoters will take notice and address the fact. Most promoters suffer from negative comments during the night (and afterwards on here), some founded, some just moans, and some plain bizzare (Andy Bins recent thread highlights the latter) Without any constructive factual evidence to highlight your point, I'm afraid you may well suffer the fate of falling into that latter category. Regards Mace
  13. I might be getting paranoid, but is this a dig at my comments on this subject on the Bidds feedback thread Terry? I do wonder cus this whole thread sort of arose following Imberboys comments posted on the same (Bidds feedback) thread. Perhaps you guys feel the need to dissect every night to the nth degree and pick at the bones on how you feel nighters 'should' be run.....the rest of us will carry on going out and enjoying what we are doing. Lots of threads arise on here, commenting on there being far too many DJs on the scene.....far more 'back seat' drivers if you ask me....
  14. How does £15 inc P&P sound? Will have to dig it out to let you know exact condition, but pretty sure it's a nice clean copy (with pic sleeve)....I've certainly only ever played it the once £15
  15. I'd like to think E. Williams 'Trade my soul' would be classed as a prime example of a perfect midtempo dancer. Would I be far off the mark with this? If so, then midtempo surely has it's place at allnighters, but I can't think of any DJs playing stuff slower than midtempo. Perhaps examples of DJs and Venues might help us pin down this style of Lullaby Northern.....?
  16. Don't think I ever hear the tempo drop below mid-tempo at any nighters I've been to? Take it you mean Ballad type stuff then? Intrigued.....any examples of such tunes as Mark suggested?
  17. I've got a copy of it going spare....but mine is the French lyrics version, not the English version. Bought it off Ebay expecting it to be the English version...DOH! Any use to ya Tone
  18. By DANCE MUSIC do you mean stompers?
  19. A shame you couldn't be arsed, cus then I could have asked you to ammend all the listings as you'd listed the wrong Tuesdays (as I said every other, not every second ) You need picking up from the station tomorrow or not mate? On a serious note I ain't picked any dates for Bidds in 2010 yet.....will hopefully go for similar to last few years dates, but might wait and see what's 'on the table'..... Makes no odds anyway, cus half a dozen new allnighters will appear before January....
  20. ......with a male or female mouth?
  21. Bidds Allnighters 2010 Every other Tuesday. You may laugh now, but it's the way forward....no competition and cus no f*cker will have a job by then you won't have to worry about work on a Wednesday.
  22. F*ck me, might have to consider selling my demo if £800 is on the table
  23. Never mind that, how on earth did he find this thread after 2.5 years Has some-one been googling their own name Mr Kelly
