  1. You gotta remember to stay out of those 50c boxes this trip Mr Parker Melvin Carter is a great buy at £10 mind............
  2. THING! That's a top notch piece of British Engineering I'll have you know! I actually built it cus I got fed up of carrying a sales box + a portable player + table lights + extension leads for lights etc etc into venues....laxy fecker that I am. Haven't sussed the tea & coffee making facility just yet but there is ample room for a mini-bar
  3. Not sure I can load up pics but will give it a go. Pics taken on a cheap phone so apologies for quality of pics. 3 tier box covered with bronzy brown fabric comprising of lid, record box in middle section, and battery operated player in base section. All three units lock together, but lid can also be used seperately for just record player. Player is battery operated with earphone socket outlet and battery powered 12V flexi light.
  4. Ooohhh...touchy Actually, it's usually the word c**t........and by the sounds of it I have good reason to be scared of coming on your show P.S. Don't forget to warm Keith up with a bit of foreplay first or he'll squeal in no time at all
  5. Ooo eerr Av him till he squeals I've heard you mention that you enjoy 'playing with your guests' on the show Chris, but didn't realise you'd stepped it up a gear. Take it you'll be up for 4 in a twin in Allentown now then.
  6. Geese, wait til you see my new one that hold approx 150 x 45s with a built in portable record player I'll try post some pics this week......it's a beauty
  7. Isn't this a different version than the big money one on JaaDee? Can't see how to check out the soundfile on the auction, can you post on here as don't think I've heard the Tide version? Regards Mace
  8. Indeed, all quality sets. Nice to hear Bobby Blands 'Yum yum tree' played out again.....a quality track by my all-time favourite artist
  9. Was the label called Viking Pete? Seem to recall Carl Willingham having one on a foreign red label and pretty sure it was Viking...might have even had a tri-center?
  10. Unfortunately never going to happen though Steve. Too many DJs on this scene would go to the opening of an envelope if they thought they could get a spot the following month
  11. Hi Craig. Did you not get the package of 45s I sent you a while back after your initial post? There was an Ann Cole 'Got my mojo working' in it so after just seeing it still on your list I'm wondering if the package never turned up? Let me know if not cus I'll still have the Recorded receipt and can check with Track and Trace. Regards Mace
  12. A great double sider and ridiculously rare. 'I wish' was covered as Gene Toones 'How happy I'd be' for many a year by Saus. Not sure if Saus sold his copy, or how many are out there. Only one shows up on Popsike. Mine came via Des Parker as a part trade for my spare copy of JT Parker a few years back. Good luck, hope you find a copy
  13. I've got a nice VG+ white promo (octogon design label) of this quality doublesider that I'd let go for a fair price. P.M. me and let me know what you are looking to pay for a copy. Regards Mace
  14. Was a top night indeed, and well deserved for 2 great guys Mind you, I spoke to Karl about 6pm Saturday evening and his head was right in the shed By the way he was going on you have thought he had rewired & recarpeted the place before opening as well as wittling new furniture from a couple of local oak trees with nowt but the use of a penknife Though the highlight of the night had to be seeing Beggsy and Rimmers faces when they first went the bar before the beer arrived. I'm sure Beggsy nearly went into shock Had to leave around 4ish cus Des wasn't feeling too well. He'd had chest pains and a numb left arm the week before and neither Beggsy nor I had any breakdown cover on us, so didn't fancy being stuck on the M6 if Mr Parker threw a seven on the way home.
  15. You got that for a bargain price........ if I recall our conversation from last night pal
  16. Steve, you would have have loved this place but unfortunately it shut down about 8 months or so ago (vid is of closing day). I had lots of great R&B 45s off them about a month before they closed. There were all listed for their bluesy B sides and were only about 5 or 6 euros each (inc the likes of Peppermint Harris / Young Jessie etc etc etc ) Hope this helps Regards Mace
  17. Rather a 'type' than a 'Forester' be...... See ya'll saturday
  18. Sorry to make you sad Kristian, but to add insult to injury this is probably 10 times rarer than J T Parker. Saus's old Gene Toones 'How happy I'd be' cover up. Co-incidentally I traded my 2nd copy of J T Parker for this + a wedge of cash (in my favour). Cheers Des P.S. the clip of this featured on a 3 track mix on Youtube is the wrong track, pretty sure Chalky posted it up in Refosoul under 'Gene Toones' 'How happy I'd be'
  19. Think Tim Brown had Andy D's 2nd copy...though that might have been Flanny.
  20. My second copy of this was listed at about 2am GMT midweek on ebay for a starting bid of $9.99. I emailed the seller (not CM) asking how much to buy it and he said he'd have to ask for $160 as he had seen it listed on Craig Moerers site the week before for $150 (which was trus cus I'd also seen and just missed out on) Never paid some-one so fast Moerer had also sold a few for $150 on ebay before it was uncovered. Full credit to Andy Dyson for this one.....still recall him playing it as a c/u at Bidds about 3 years ago.
  21. Got a Ex condition copy that I'm not really wanting to sell, but P.M. me with a decent enough offer and I'll let you know if I can be swayed or not
  22. ....tw@t...... Actually, I'm sure it's Kimbo who is selling this, a proper nice guy, well into his Northern. He lost a leg a few years back , pretty sure it was after a car accident returning from either a soul night/nighter, but he still supports plenty of events and even still gets up to dance on the odd occasion. Not something I'd buy, but at least he's got the gumption to set up a business supplying stuff that obviously sells and pays his bills, so can't knock him for it. Apologies if that's knocked the stuffing out of any of you cynical old turkeys during the season of goodwill to all men .. (To be fair he's got a good sense of humour and would probably laugh off any criticism/p*sstaking) Back to Ezzie.....the Royal Wedding Allnighter was a goer till you let the cat out the bag mate....now there will be 20 of 'em all in the same night within a 50 miles radius Ho ho ho... Mace
  23. I reckon running just 4 times a year is what this venue always needed , and think you guys will hit the floor running Karl Heard...musician, DJ and now a promoter....is there no end to this mans talents Bet he's shit in the sack mind.......
  24. Very nice indeed...thanks for posting
  25. Know what you mean about sound levels on E.P.s, though this one only seems to drop about 10% volume. Yep, the other one is German Somerset Look forward to scan
