  1. Now you're just taking the p*ss.....
  2. Does anyone actually ever use the term 'OVO' when out and about? Perhaps it's just me, but I cringe everytime I see it posted up, and can't believe that anyone uses it as a term of reference for a venue/DJ etc as normal conversation? "OMG did you go to that nighter last night, it's just right 4U cus it's 100% OVO and a fab night IMO." FFS
  3. Johnny Colon 'You gotta love me' is a tough one, I've got a copy on 45 and know of quite a few other copies out there, so debatable just how rare....
  4. Mid-week soul.......it's the way forward!
  5. £150 for 'Oh that's nice' is ridiculous to be fair, and yes it sounds very similar to 'I like it like that' (which was the one used in the Orange ads Ady) I'd have thought £50 was about it's money, though they both used to sit at around £25 for years. 'Delusion' is a lot tougher to find, so can understand higher price tag for this. Also noticed at least 3 copies of 'Here comes the judge' go for around $180 in the last 6 months.......whereas 'Guagaloo' still seems to be selling at a reasonable price (for the time being) and is as good, if not better, than all of the above imo.
  6. Chris, will you take trades for a decent Tom Tom? If so, have you got any of these..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Du3qCdeOE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoVMjpraIdA
  7. There is a few who know who it is Mark. No disrespect to Ted, but this has always been Des Parkers cover-up, he has been playing it for over 5 years that I know of. Suppose it was Des's own fault for letting the cat out the bag to a few folk, including Ted, who then sourced one, and renamed it as Sandi Sheldon....in fact, Des didn't have it covered when he first stared playing it. Des even once posted a playlist up on here about 5 years ago with the correct artist, label and title of this track and only ammended it a few months ago when I reminded him it was still there for the world to see....in fact, you may well have even been DJing at the same event that the playlist was posted from Happy hunting fella.....
  8. That's a great post, and sums it up BOB ON! Can some-one more organised than myself, please copy this post to file and paste up on any subsequent mind numbing threads to save us all precious hours of our lives playing groundhog day with this, and similar discussion points! Job done......Close this thread now Len, and do a Bobby Paris........
  9. Wow, so you're now to be known as Rod the Mod ? Have you got any of your old 'Shotgun Express' 45s knocking about...could do with replacing my British Columbia promo of 'Curtains' / 'I could feel the whole world turn round'! Bet Ms. Driscoll was a proper minx in her day eh! Think I had my first copy of "Two loves have I' out of your store in Afflecks Palace, along with a quality vintage 3 button suit that I bought from a nearby stall that still had a couple of pills in the inside jacket pocket ! (True!) Best of luck moderating this section pal...watch out for that deviant Des Parker mind, he's way too cheap and puts the others to shame! Regards Mace

  12. Bargain, I'll take it for a tenner Keith.......

Des Parker sold a copy in the sales section on here a couple of days ago for a mere £6 Looks like its going down in price to me!
  14. Great playlist Chris I highlight the 'Reggie Soul' cus I get instant raging depression whenever I hear it.......only cus I sold it for about £4 amongst a pile of records in the late 90s to Nick Marshall.........
  15. Lou, just when are 'The Dyslexics of Soul' starting up again......
  16. Len, I still collect and play plenty of Latin, it's more popular than ever (though not on the Northern Scene)....... prices have gone crazy for this stuff in the last few years. We play more than our fair share of it at Bidds Allnighter, in fact I'd doubt you'd hear as much at any other current niter in the U.K. I posted a link for a new movie/doc about the rise and fall of Latin Boogaloo music in the articles section, click the link and watch the trailer video...... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/welikeitlikethat/we-like-it-like-that-the-story-of-latin-boogaloo P.S. you spelt Gypsy wrong....I'm presuming it's words with a 'Y' in them that you struggle with?
  17. I wasn't there, so shouldn't really comment....but should imagine Black Sugar 'Too late' was probably played by Sam or Arthur (pretty sure they have both been playing it out recently), and unless Dave Thorley sneaked a latin track in his set that would be that, as they say. A couple of tracks over a full night at most...... God forbid!
  18. Hi Len.....even funnier is the fact that you have posted this up and spelled RHYTHM incorrectly once again....I will never forget the banner you handmade cus when I arrived at your house you proudly hung it up to show me and I pointed out you had mispelled RHYTHM as RYTHM and I'm sure you had to paint a little black H above it Please tell me that I never imagined that, cus way too much of my past is bleary at the best of times, but whenever I see you, your name or anyone mispell RHYTHM, that banner comes to mind!
  19. Whatevers happening here...just knock it off! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWblMMZ0jKU Not a big fan of baked beans to be honest. Heard you like a little sausage now and again though...........touché !
  20. I love baked beans me. Been eating them every weekend for the last 30 years. Anyways, I go the shop to buy some, and major dilemma, no baked beans in stock this weekend! Then I see this tin of baked beans mixed with little sausages! So I thought, I need to eat some beans this weekend, so I'll give them a go......paid me money and went straight home to eat them. I ate one sausage and spat it out....it was horrible....it was covered in bean sauce, but tasted nowt like beans! Can't for the life of me understand why would anyone put those horrible little sausages in a tin of beans..... So, I went straight back the shop and demanded my money back, not before having a good old rant at the girl on the till for selling me them.....especially cus she knows I love baked beans, as I said, I buy them every week! She says it's clearly stated on the tin that sausages were in there, but as I pointed out, they taste nowt like beans, so they shouldn't be in there! Anyways, I'm now telling everybody I know how horrible these little sausages are....makes me feel so much better about it. I love baked beans me.
  21. FFS Len, lock this thread before Dazdakin and Wiggyflat arrive
  22. I should imagine Reg Guest used the Booker T classic as an inspiration for 'Underworld', it does have certain similarities to Green Onions. Doubt it's your cup'a'char Mark, but it's been a massive mod tune for over 20 years now...... sounds fcukin' great out loud in a packed out small sweaty club.
  23. Nope, though it is very tough to find on original 45 (it has also been recently booted on a lookalikie) Got my first copy off Jim Bates (platters81 on here) over 20 years ago......sold it in the late 90s, regretted it, and luckily managed to find another about 8 years ago.
