  1. Think I know him Geese, does he tends to carp on a bit.....
  2. Callum does indeed run Souled Out, think his average attendance figures run around the 150 mark, but I could be mistaken cus I was as p*ssed as a newt when I went
  3. Absolutely not, it's just a night out to most of them, a few will absorb more and more of the music, some will simply appreciate it, most will just enjoy it for what it is...a night out dancing, drinking & copping off. We travelled when we were young cus were were part of a scene (Northern or Mod etc) There is no current scene to attract these kids, the scene that exists is made of old farts, predominately blokes. I had a healthy Northern scene on my doorstep in Stoke when I was young, but preferred to travel to Birmingham most weekends to be amongst likeminded mods of my own age....I occasionally went to Northern Nights/Nighters in Stoke, as well as places like The Raven in Whitchurch, then moreso as the music took more priority, but most of the folks there were still 10 -15 years older than me and most nights were chosen dependant on meeting up with similar aged mates on scooters from Chester etc. Some youngsters will inevitably try to create their own scene from the ideals of the mod and northern scenes...GoGo Children, Beat Boutique etc, but why would they feel the need to travel out to the sticks to some working mens club when they can set up a venue in a city centre and invite as many of their mates along as possible. The music will be there forever...the scene as we know it, 5-10 years max I'd say, possibly less.
  4. Some great Latin Boogaloo on this Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/BASEMENTBOOGALOO#g/u
  5. I really don't think most youngsters would consider travelling to a venue outside of their city centre nowadays, but then again, weren't many of the successful Soul venues of yesteryear, from the Wheel, Torch, Casino, TOTW located near or in town centres. I'm well aware that plenty of folk travelled from afar for these venues, especially as their reputation grew, but they probably had a better chance to succeed than some-where out in the sticks as they could also attract a decent local crowd.
  6. I've got a copy on Kaiser if any use to ya. Let me know if any use and I'll confirm condition/price etc Regards Mace
  7. That's normally the case.....
  8. Can't resist a spot of baiting me... The Kick Off 45 is okay, but not a patch on Carl Underwood......and you know it As for Garlon Davis, got a pretty decent track by him called 'Oh my soul' that seems quite tough even though it came out on 2 labels (Progress and Vended if I remember correctly)
  9. Lost me on this one pal...please PM me to clarify?
  10. Christ, that's like having Tesco's value mincemeat served up on the same plate as Chateaubriand Steak....
  11. Willie Small still sounds great after all these years......
  12. Experience....are you telling me you've never been to tittyshakin' classes? Post is shite cus of Xmas....sent it recorded so will check tracking number later to see if it's lost, broken or not traceable...
  13. Sounds like a typical case of novice tittyshakin'......try starting the momentum at the shoulders and progressing down rather than at the hips and moving upwards...otherwise the belly always takes over.....
  14. Here ya go Dennis.....shake them titties! https://wfmuichiban.blogspot.com/2011/04/drumble.html
  15. Been asked by some-one who knows the guy who did this to post the link below to create a discussion point. Not my thing to be honest, but can see that it may have appeal to others on the Northern scene....so, good, bad or indifferent? I'll vote indifferent cus although not my sort thing musically, I can appreciate it's been done pretty well.
  16. Gary, tis available on 45 on Willow and goes for around £80 - £100 Not had one for a while....last copies for sale that I was aware of came via Des Parker who pulled 4 copies off a shelf in a certain Pennsylvania record store a few years back. Regards Mace

  18. That's no lady pal.....adams apple is normally a dead giveaway
  19. Her's a few for ya pal.... 1. A new Sat Nav. 2. A road map of New Jersey with all local car hire locations. 3. A beginners guide to ordering online pizza in the U.S. Enjoy!
  20. Got a VG+ copy on 'Hi Mar', some label wear, up for grabs @ £20 + P&P? Regards Mace
  21. Tough, tough record....only ever had 2 copies, though to be fair I only actually needed one... I personally reckon this is rarer than Young Jessie 'Brown Eyes'.
  22. You'd be best looking for Mod Jazz 45s, such Jimmy Smith on U.S. Verve 'Got my mojo working', Jimmy McGriff 'All about my girl' on U.S. Sue, or U.S. Bluenote 45s. Most of this type of stuff is quite cheap, even some of the U.K. stuff, they represent the 60s Mod scene perfectly and they look great. If you prefer something by a 60s blue-eyed U.K. Mod group, then it's gotta be the Small Faces...again, most of their 45s are relatively cheap. Got plenty of this type of stuff knocking about so let me know your budget and I'll see if I can sort you out. Otherwise there are plenty of cheap lookalikie pressings out there.
  23. Unsold items now reduced and FREE postage for Paypal Gift payments.....
  24. Now that is quality! Looks like a young Roddy....
