  1. I personally don't give a flying fcuk if anybody remembers or cares what we did down at Bidds in 20 years time Nige.........but do you really think such a petty comment does your credibility any favours........
  2. What's her cooking like...?
  3. You can indeed Dave, which row of tables would you prefer...number 1 or number 2
  4. Be good to see you too pal....didn't see you at Lifeline? Can I also ask that you Derby lads leave your girlfriends at home this time....those sheep droppings on the carpet could give the venue a bad name
  5. We prefer to refer to it as character Dave, and as you're some-one who frequents the 100 Club on a regular basis I'm surprised you're so adverse to somewhat 'rustic washrooms' Most diverse and forward thinking music policy must surely put Bidds @ Number 1, no question.........though the state of the toilets may well push it out as a number two (that was a turd joke in case you missed it ) What is probably more worth considering, is that though Bidds and Kings Hall are at the opposite ends of the soul spectrum musically speaking (as well as the obvious attendance figures )......they are both held in Stoke........ which proves we have it all.......on our doorstep. Nuff said.........
  6. Was that for the 500 copies of Edwin Starr Running back and forth/Time that you both bought....
  7. Yup Pt2 only available on 45 on flip of Fania 45. Just took the time to read the actual description on the first Youtube clip posted with the Uptite label and it's an edit that some-one has done by extending the intro etc. Proper Pt2 clip below...with an added plug for March 10th....
  8. Now, now.....Just cus he chucked you and John Kelly out of his shop for making a bigger mess than it already was... Angus tells me he's still there, but apparently nowt can be found in there since 2 mickey mousers misfiled all his stock....
  9. US shipping only........still way cheap mind.
  10. Didn't have Cotique release number, so just done a new search and found one on Worthpoint that sold last March, but interestingly the label design ( type/font ) differ to yours....link below... https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/latino-cotique-112new-swing-sextet-137003324
  11. Easily sorted, I'll swap ya both my Fania Magic Rose and my Fuentes New Swing Sextet for your Cotique 45, which I now believe to be fairly common Will let you know next time I see a Magic Rose up for sale Thanks for scan...mighty impressed...great find!
  12. This is probably my favourite Joe Bataan track......on the flip of Fania 45 release of Special Girl, and also released as Naatab on Uptite 45......
  13. Is that the album version? Definately an extended intro to the 45 Pt 2 version on flip of the Fania 45. Pretty sure that the Uptite scan on this Youtube clip you posted only has the Pt1 version (not the one actually playing), which is much slower and nowhere near as good, with a totally different flip? Pt1 on clip below....
  14. 'Kin nice one Preems..... The Fuentes is tough enough but on Cotique....wow...must be one of the rarest 45s on the label. Not doubting you but any chance of label scans for an anorak... .
  15. Maybe he had one under each.......that could certainly answer a few questions of late...
  16. Has anybody actually ever seen this on Cotique 45? Is it on the Cotique 45 discography listings? I've got it on Fuentes 45, but don't know anyone who has even seen the Cotique 45? Eat your banana, eat your banana, eat your banana ....wooh hoo! Quality.....
  17. That would have been a sight to see.......Val chucking Firemen out the building cus they weren't buying owt!
  18. I believe Mick H has a whole chapter dedicated to him finding a spare copy of the Mello Souls under his left man-boob. Fascinating stuff.....you just couldn't make it up!
  19. Pretty sure Chris Penn found the copy of The Jokers on Skofield in Vals, that went to Terry Davis and pretty much paid for his trip...though that may well have been 15+ years ago. Definately much harder work nowadays, even the R&B stuff has been decimated (though I'm sure Thorsten still scours the place at least twice a year)..... quite a few £300+ 45s have been found in there over recent years...Clarence Hill on Mainstream issues, Teddy Mack on Monroe...not to mention cheaper, but consistant sellers such as a very healthy supply of Billy & Moonlighters on Crystal Ball and a 100 count box of that Stanky shite on Cobblestone that were wedged on the first stairwell... Should imagine it's still great for unknowns, recent discoveries etc....if you can stand the cats, their litter trays, bending your neck @ 90 degrees to read overly worn card inserts for 8 hours at a time, not to mention standing on ladders 10 feet high with your back pressed againt the opposite shelves! His prices have definately increased considerably over the last few years. Vals still a great guy mind, as long as you don't upset him or tread on a cat! Wouldn't fancy me chances of getting out alive though, if even the smallest of fires ever broke out! Whilst in Philly....anyone know what happened to John Moores shop...heard it was closed down last year with no further info ?
  20. Can someone please post accurate info on original matrix numbers and deadwax info on this 45. Also approx year of reissue of any subsequent repros (inc various label colours). Ta muchly... Mace
  21. There seems to be plenty of glue experts on this thread....it's amazing what can be learnt from a misspent youth round the back of the offy..... Just waiting for some-one to suggest rubbing wild mushrooms over the vinyl will help....bet the same experts come out to play
  22. Des Parker (Soul.Inc on here) had a U.S. copy of The Drifter in his sales box on saturday at Lifeline....not sure on condition and can't remember price soz.
  23. To think you could buy an original copy of this 45 by the Tempests and still have £140+ in change....
  24. Good stuff........seems as though Continental are adopting the same pricing strategy currently used by the care in the community ebay members who vastly overbid on Tempests Stardust 45s!
  25. Actually, I was talking to you Joe, and happened to miss a comma out... Should have been... Fcuk me, stupid. You going A'town in March?
