Pretty sure Chris Penn found the copy of The Jokers on Skofield in Vals, that went to Terry Davis and pretty much paid for his trip...though that may well have been 15+ years ago.
Definately much harder work nowadays, even the R&B stuff has been decimated (though I'm sure Thorsten still scours the place at least twice a year)..... quite a few £300+ 45s have been found in there over recent years...Clarence Hill on Mainstream issues, Teddy Mack on Monroe...not to mention cheaper, but consistant sellers such as a very healthy supply of Billy & Moonlighters on Crystal Ball and a 100 count box of that Stanky shite on Cobblestone that were wedged on the first stairwell...
Should imagine it's still great for unknowns, recent discoveries etc....if you can stand the cats, their litter trays, bending your neck @ 90 degrees to read overly worn card inserts for 8 hours at a time, not to mention standing on ladders 10 feet high with your back pressed againt the opposite shelves!
His prices have definately increased considerably over the last few years.
Vals still a great guy mind, as long as you don't upset him or tread on a cat!
Wouldn't fancy me chances of getting out alive though, if even the smallest of fires ever broke out!
Whilst in Philly....anyone know what happened to John Moores shop...heard it was closed down last year with no further info ?
