It wasn't mint but a nice clean copy all the same. Buyer bought 6 big money records for full price so I'm very happy with deal and a few hefty steps closer to paying for a major want!

Hi pal, what you looking to pay for Linda Lloyd got a lovely clean promo knocking about somewhere... Regards Mace

Can't believe Searling ever played the Sammy Davis track Adam.....if only for the fact that halfway through he shouts something like 'Cor Blimey' or similar....just needs an 'Awright guvnor' and a 'Leave it out' and the shandy drinking southerners will be kicking heels mid air and dancing on rooftops with a chimney brush in their hands... ;o) Seans a decent guy, who is at least trying to play something different in his sets regardless of such online bun fights. He turned up at the Pow Wow Nighter as a punter and stayed til the end, and as Chalky says, he was present at Lifeline last weekend, so can only presume he is attending other venues when not DJing. That Adam Topping's a tw&t mind, boring as fcuk and breath smells like Satans arse....so feel free to give him an internet fisting any day of the week. ;o)

Sad news indeed.....my favourite artist, his songs inspired me to search out the grittier side of soul from an early age. R.I.P Mr Bobby 'Blue' Bland.

Pppffftttttt.....

Good luck pal, tuff on Tiny but so much better than that inferior version on Rouser..... Cue the response from a multitude of Rouser owners defending their version....you all know you'd prefer it on Tiny if you could get a copy! ;o)

Wasn't this the record that a well known dealer turned down for $300 in the car park of Austin Record Show cus there was no demand for the flip from the far east......or was that Sir Joe? Fcuk knows, these rare records confuse the life out of me if I'm honest! Apparently hand delivered from the good old U S of A in a used, but fully functional pizza box! Rumour has it that 2 slices of stuffed crust pepperoni pizza were used to pack the 45, and that the cheese was still warm on receipt....exceptional service indeed, and such a dedicated service should surely be worth another grand on top ! I'm not one to spread malicious rumours, but I believe Karl Heard may be selling his complete collection of Famous Five and Secret Seven paperbacks so as to fund a heavy bid to secure this tune and then permanently sandwich it (with superglue) between two VG+ slabs of funky edged soul vinyl.....just cus he can.....and cus he knows that you'll all still love him for it........ So, what will it go for.....? How about we all chuck a quid in for a guess and nearest to actual amount wins the pot..... I reckon £13,388.56 Fancy yer chances......? No PayPal mind....cash is king!

Loads of great versions, Little Sonny being one of the best IMO. Graham Bonds is also very good, if you like manic Hammond / Mod instros! Not forgetting soul tunes whose backings are very similar, Tony Clarkes 'Wrong Man' and Johnny Guitar Watsons 'Wait a minute baby' are prime examples.....

Don't get on SS as much as I used to so ashamed to say that I only heard about this tonight. RIP Salmon, a great guy with a proper passion for soul. Till next time......sleep well pal.

How Do You Define R&b ? Split From Other Thread
Mace replied to Sceneman's topic in All About the SOUL
But Ady, most of those blues based R&B singers recorded great uptempo dance tracks at some point, you could argue the same point with Bobby 'Blue' Blands "Shoes". Nobody is disputing they are 'dance' records and probably targeted a younger audience....and as the Northern Scene is a dance based scene then I can understand the desire to label and pidgeon hole such records. However, as we all know, the Northern Scene has embraced much more than just uptempo black dance music, so to me the whole discussion falls flat. Think 'Rhythm & Soul' sums up such tracks quite nicely to be fair! Lets hope Tittyshakers never start getting played on the Northern Scene.....Saxie Russell and HB Barnum are Northern Soul stars after all..aren't they? -
How Do You Define R&b ? Split From Other Thread
Mace replied to Sceneman's topic in All About the SOUL
So if Ray Agee isn't classed as RnB cus it's filled floors on the Northern Scene, then the same applies to the likes of Charles Sheffield, Larry Davies, Dusty Wilson, Joe Tex etc etc etc etc James Duncans incredibly shitty 45 'Three little pigs' had a much better response from the Northern Scene than the RnB Scene..... So that must also be a Northern record if this logic applies? No, it's actually just a piss poor RnB record. Nice to have your cake and eat it I suppose! -
I've got some money for ya.....if ya need it like.....
